FC: Great Depression Mixbook

 1. What caused the Great depression? Many different factors caused the Great Depression. It started because everything seemed so much better than it was. The more people spent the higher business cost became. It got to the point where business's had trouble being profitable and competitive. These factors led to Black Tuesday, October 29, 1929, the day the stock market crashed. This scared Americans and caused them to spend and buy less. They were saving more which caused less production and more unemployment. The government tried to step in and put laws down to help but ended up doing more damage.

2.How long did the Great Depression last? The world felt the effects of the Great Depression for many years. It started in 1929 and didn't start recovering until 1941. But it took until after WWII for the world to start fully reaching what it was before the Great Depression started.

 3. What was life like during the Great Depression. I can imagine life being terrible during those times. It virtually effected everyone. Some more than others. People were reaching points where they didn't have money to buy food and couldn't get a job because no one was buying anything. Some were forced to sell fruit on the side of roads to make money.

4.Who was affected by the Great Depression? Everyone was affected by it. Parents struggled to give money for themselves and their children. There was a lot of pressure for them to change things. Children didn't get the same privledges as they do now. They were forced to be hungry after meals a lot of the time. It gave stress on everyone to try to get a job when there was no jobs to get.

 5. How did the Great Depression end? One big thing led to the end of the Great Depression. As many bad things that came out of WWII were at least followed by helping the worst economic crisis in US history. After Pearl Harbor US officially entered the war. All the men who left to fight left openings in factories which needed many jobs to help supply the war effort. Many things were needed for the US in the war and American citizens had jobs again to make money and slowly save the economy.
