S: Family trip to Germany, Austria and Czech Republic 2011

BC: Here we are in Wernigerode but our time together on this wonderful trip went by fast.

22: Wernigerode Town Hall with Melissa and Jodi under the Coat of arms above the portal. Melissa stand in front of the unusual and beautiful timber frames in Germany. The brown building was built in 1674 on 72 Breite StraBe street with its interesting facades and religious carvings. 24: Wernigerode fairy tale castle the Counts of Stolberg-Wernigerode sits high above the town. My mother, Ina could see the castle from her back window. A view from the top of the castle showing the orange roofs of the houses and the church "Our Lady" is the tallest with the point in the picture.

26: 63 Burgstrasse Street-Melissa, Jodi and Janice in front of Ina Wolf's house where she lived as a child in Germany. Melissa and Jodi buying memories in their grandma's Ina neighborhood.

30: Along the romantic road we stopped at Rothenburg and 'Wurzburg for a enjoyable sight seeing time. | Only two hotels left in the city to stay at. | WURZBURG

31: The bombing raid on Wurzburg on March 16, 1945 lasted for about 20 minutes and destroyed over 80 per cent of the town's buildings. Wurzburg occupies a picturesque position on the banks of the river Main. | Larry is holding on to wall very carefully. | Jodi only 10 more feet to go | Passing the Old Main Bridge you hike up to the hilltop fortress.

Janice and Jodi in front of the Christmas car. | ROTHENBURG | Watch for the guy to come out | City Councilors Tavern is one of the most famous buildings in Rothenburg . Catholic General Tilly threatened to plunder and destroy the city. He promised to spare the town from destruction if Councilor managed to empty an enormous tankard containing 3 1/4 liters of wine in one draught. The former mayor mastered this task and saved the city.

33: Jodi with the Night Watchman. A fun tour of the town. Jodi and Melissa at the Crime and PunishmentMuseum. | Melissa missed the curfew and must pay a fine to enter the small door of this medieval walled town.

35: The southern end of the city wall is the most imposing bulwark of Rothenburg. The bastion was built during the 17th century and has two inner courtyards, seven gates and an upper walkway with embrasures. The well preserved and imposing dry moat shows that not only walls protected the city. Oftentimes attackers failed during the attempt to cross the moats. | Rothenburg
