1: KPUR Purple Sage Broadcasting | Mrs. Stutzman sponsors our morning broadcast. | 2011-2012
2: Ms . Stenulson takes her first team to the Battle of the Bluebonnets and wins 2nd place, only missing one question!
3: Purple Sage's Science Fair Winners!
4: Mrs. Wilgoren, our librarian who retired last year, skypes in to Purple Sage to read to our students all the way from Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
5: Our new librarian, Mrs. Stenulson, has made our reading pit interactive for the students with our Smartboard.
6: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade are reading a Bluebonnet Book and "passing it forward" to another student. Once read, they can sign the bulletin board.
7: Purple Sage announces their Robotics Team today and meets to discuss their interest in Legos and make new friends. Our leaders are Alex Kosub and Katie Faris, two of our 4th grade team. | 2011-2012 | 20112012
8: Purple Sage is part of the No Excuses University network of schools and encourages all students to be college bound. Classrooms have adopted colleges to show the importance of making college a reality.
9: Thursday afternoon Chess Club continues to be strong this year 2011-2012. We are privileged to have Mr. Morgan as our leader.
10: In 2010-2011, we introduced We-Do Robotics to the younger students of Purple Sage.
11: The students are sorting their materials to familiarize themselves with their Lego Kit.
12: Student is using our Promethean ActivSlate to build words with letter tiles.

16: Jacqueline West
17: Author Jacqueline West came to visit with our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. She is the author of one of this year's Bluebonnet Award Nominees, for the book "The Shadows." She also recently released the second book in the series "The Books of Elsewhere" called "Spellbound." Students really enjoyed listening to Jacqueline talk about the process she goes through to get a book published. They learned that she has to go through a rigorous writing process, which can take years, before a book is published. Students also got to listen to her read a chapter from "The Shadows" aloud.
18: TAG Third graders created PowerPoints of their space research and learned how to insert and document pictures.
19: Students present their learning of defensive adaptations to their fourth grade class through technology.
20: Fourth Graders investigate the properties of quadralaterals using self-created manipulatives & summarizing similarities on a chart displayed by the document camera onto their Promethean Board.
21: Second Graders work on their Natural Resource Webs using Kidspiration software.
