FC: My Virtual child Part 1 "Children learn through exploration and by using all their senses." -Jean Piaget-

My baby is a girl and her name is Aiden. She is a premature baby with a little underweight, but she seems very healthy.

At the Age of 3 Months... Sometimes Aiden becomes fussy, and it is difficult to soothe, also she has a difficult time in her sleep during the night.

I notice that children at the age of three months, their sleeping have a circle routine:sleep for 3 hours , then wake up 3 or 4 hours. Therefore, I try to keep the routine pretty regular for Aiden, such as feeding , playing, napping . As a result, Aiden adapts it gradually.

A the Age of 8 Months... Aiden 's motor skills are typical for her age: crawling, sitting up, and standing up, but not walking yet. Aiden is able to make different sounds, such as "MoM MoM" and "DaDa".

At the Age of 12-15 months... Aiden is able to imitate new words and actions; therefore, I model new interesting behavior and words, and I praise her when she imitates me. Aiden learns to walk recently, when she does something potentially dangerous, such as walking out to the street. I put on a scared face, speak in a frightened voice, and tell her,"No, you can get hurt!"

At the Age of 18-24 Months... Aiden is less clingy lately, and she often wants to be put down to explore rather than to be held. Her favorite places to venture out, are the park and the beach.

By analyzing each developmental stages of my virtual child, I am able to assess the child's growth, understand the process of one's physical, emotional and intellectual development. This upstanding guides me how to plan my curriculum in the future early childhood education, and teach me how to demonstrate my skills in analyzing children.

This assignment allows me explore the roles of a child, a parent and a teacher. As a result, parents and teachers are very important for a child's life. If parents and teachers are better to understand a child's development, the child will be easier to reach his or her development milestones. Raise a virtual child gives me the opportunity to use what I am learning in the class and demonstrate on the real situation.

"The path development is a journey of discovery that is clear only in retrospect, and it is rarely a straight line." -Eileen Kennedy-Moore
