S: Cora Goes Swimming
FC: The Adventures of Cora the Yellow Labrador | Cora Goes Swimming By Rosanne (& Cora) Brackney
Claire and Cora live in Zillah, Washington with their "Mom" Rosanne. They like to spend their time playing in the water and going for walks in the foothills. | Here's some facts about Labrador Retrievers: Labs, as they are commonly called, come in three colors - Black, Chocolate and Yellow. They are one of the friendliest breeds of dogs and are highly trainable, making them wonderful companions and service dogs. As of 2010, Labradors have been the most popular breed in the United States for 19 consecutive years!
This book is dedicated in memory of my sister Vicki, the first person to introduce me to the wonderful Labrador Retriever. I trust that she and all her animal companions have been reunited, and are enjoying the life that we know awaits us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Acknowledgments: Thanks to Dan and Carole Valentine, the breeders of my beautiful Labradors. You've helped to add joy to my life. Also, thanks to my friends and family for their suggestions and encouragement. Without that, I probably would have just had a good laugh and filed this story in a drawer! And last but not least, to the stars themselves: Cora Belle IV SR46682701 Claire Bear IV RN SR21638701 (RN stands for Rally Novice—her first AKC title!) “Girls, let the hair fly!”
It was July and the day was very, very hot. Cora decided that it would be fun to go swimming. “Where can I go to swim?” she thought to herself. “Ahh, I bet the horses won't mind if I use their water tank!”
And with that in mind, she slipped in...
Oh, was Cora having fun! Swimming circles in the water, first to the left...
 And then to the right....
 And even on her side!
She even pretended she was a ferocious Crocodile!
“Do I hear someone calling my name?” wonders Cora. “I'm really not ready to get out yet. It's very cool in here.”
“But wait! I see sister Claire, and she looks like she's doing something very fun!”
Cora's big sister Claire is having fun rolling in the dirt!
Wait for me!” woofs Cora. “I don't want to miss out on the fun!” And so Cora jumps out of the water to join Claire.
“Oh, what fun this is!” Cora smiles. “It feels so good!”
“CORA!” a voice yells. “You're such a dirty puppy!” “I'm NOT dirty!” howls Cora. “I'm pretending to be a Chocolate Labrador!”
Cora feels so good now, all she wants to do is run and play.
“Catch me if you can!” Cora barks, as she runs by. Another day, another game to play, for Cora, the adorable Labrador!
 The End!
