1: Family Fun | What a beautiful view! | We had as many as 18 people in the home together! | The Manderbach, Ojeda, and Vernon families visit Montana 2011

3: Manderbach's Grilled Tri Tips | Santa Maria Tri-Tip 2-3 lbs. beef Tri-Tip 1 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper 2 teaspoons granulated garlic 1 teaspoon granulated onion 1 1/2 teaspoon Paprika 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper 1 teaspoon Rosemary 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup Red Wine Vinegar 1/2 cup garlic-infused vegetable oil 1. Mix together the black pepper, garlic, onion, paprika, cayenne, rosemary, and salt and rub on the meat. 2. Prepare the barbecue grill, using water-soaked oak chips(preferred, if you can find them) or mesquite. 3. Drizzle the oil slowly into vinegar, whisking rapidly. Brush on the meat as soon as you put it on the grill. 4. Grill the meat over direct heat, medium-high.Turn at least 3 times. Grill 30-35 minutes(not half night like we had to in Montana) 5. Slice about 1/8" to 1/4" thick across the grain and serve with corn tortillas and salsa. 6. Enjoy with a margarita.

5: Smile n | Glisten n | We fished daily on the Clark Fork River at the House | Bananas Foster Pancakes | Melt lots of butter over medium heat. Add quite a bit of brown sugar and stir. Then add some of your favorite rum or creme de banana to taste. Slice up some bananas and saute in the mixture until golden. Use on top of your favorite pancakes, crepes, or waffles.

7: Alberton Gorge | Going through FANG! | Jim's Grilled Salami: | Purchase a good quality summer sausage or salami. Peel the skin only if it is thick. Grill, slice, and enjoy!!
8: Paddling in sync and listening to our guides commands, and smiling for Mike, who stayed vigilant on his rock photographing the scheduled trips, was all that was required. Having fun and surviving was a bonus.

13: We spent a glorious day visiting Glacier National Park | We hiked near Apgar, enjoyed our packed lunches at the shore of the McDonald Lodge, hiked up Cedars Boardwalk to the snow where Alex and Carsten were within reach of petting a goat.

15: Flathead and Glacier areas are absolutely breath taking. The sky is truly a different shade of blue there.
16: Luis' Quiche | First find a sexy Puerto Rican Man like Luis. Brown 1 lb. of Hot Jimmy Dean Sausage. Drain, then spread meat on bottom of 9 x 13 glass pan. Sprinkle 1/3 shredded cheddar or Colby/jack cheese on top of browned sausage. Cook 1 lb.bacon until crispy. Crumble and sprinkle on top of cheese layer. Crack 12-14 large eggs in bowl- mix and add 1/2 cup of milk. Then pour eggs slowly on top of bacon layer. Cover and bake in oven at 400 degrees for 50 minutes(or until middle is done-not like jello) Uncover and sprinkle 1/3 of shredded cheese on top and bake at 400 for 10-15 minutes. When done...take out and let sit at least 15 minutes. Call Luis to eat and enjoy.!
17: Luis' Chicken This is a really complex... First and foremost you have to have a Sexy Puerto Rican. Then take some chicken breasts and put in a plastic zip-lock bag and pour in some Zesty Italian Dressing and shake. Let set in the fridge for a day or two marinating. Enjoy that Puerto Rican and a drink while you wait.

19: Back to Nature | Sunshine makes us happy | Each season has its joys to treasure, to lift one's spirits and bring us pleasure.
20: Shelly's Double Tree Chocolate Chip Cookies 1/2 cup rolled oats(regular/not instant) 2 1/4 cup flour(she uses 1/8 c. extra) 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1 cup butter, softened(she uses unsalted) 3/4 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice 2 eggs 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips 1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts(if desired) Cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs and mix until smooth. Add vanilla and lemon juice. Mix well. Stir in dry ingredients; blend well. Add chips and nuts to dough and mix by hand. Refrigerate 2-3 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
21: The kids had a great time eating Shelly's delicious cookies to give them energy for the hike down to the river to fish, hop on the mountain bikes for rides, playing in the game room, catching bull frogs, rolling rocks and or trapping chipmunks. The adults enjoyed deck time, working together in the kitchen as well as the trips to and from the river. 23: B | Ping pong, foos ball, Wii, Quelf, rock skipping, rock tumbling, biking and water balloon throwing entertained most. | We had so many Bingo prizes the game outlasted some of the players. Bingo winners could choose Packer prizes, food items, Longaberger, books, jewelry, games, glow sticks, Charmin, Itunes cards, toys, t-shirts and so much more. The candy items that ended up in the bunk room were enjoyed by our rodent resident.
24: Chili Vernon Style | 2 lbs ground beef 1 Tbsp vegetable oil 1 cup chopped yellow onions 3 stalks celery, chopped 1 Tbsp minced garlic 1 Tbsp cumin 3 Tbsp chili powder to taste Dash hot sauce (or more!) 1 large can crushed tomatoes 1 large can tomato sauce 1 small can v-8 1 bottle good beer 1 can chili beans (optional) salt & pepper
25: Heat oil in a heavy pot. Add beef and brown. Add onions, celery, garlic, chili powder, cumin, and hot sauce and cook until onions soften. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, V8, and beer. Simmer and cook until thickened. Add beans if desired at end and cook until beans are hot but not mushy. Add salt/pepper/chili powder to taste. Serve over spaghetti noodles (optional). Top with sour cream, cheddar cheese, oyster crackers
26: Manderbach Stuffed Shells 3 tablespoons corn starch 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 3 cups milk 1/4 cup margarine 1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded 4 ounces Italian Sausage 1/4 cup onions, chopped 2 cups cooked chicken, coarsely chopped 6 ounces jumbo past shells, cooked & drained 1 package frozen spinach, thawed 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1 bunch green onions, sliced Stir together corn starch and salt. Gradually stir in milk until smooth. Add margarine. Stir constantly while bringing to a boil over medium heat for 1 minute. Remove 1 cup sauce; set aside. Stir Swiss cheese into remaining sauce. Cook sausage and chicken until done. Stir together sausage, chicken, spinach, green onion, reserved cup sauce, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Fill shells with sausage/meat mixture. Place shells in 11x7x2 inch baking dish. Spoon cheese sauce over shells. Bake in 350 degree oven 20-25 minutes or until bubbly. Cover with tin foil while baking. If want tops of shells and cheese browned, remove foil for last few minutes of baking time. Serve warm. Serves 8
27: Chow time | Alex's Favorite Pesto Dip | 1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese 1/4 cup pesto 1 plum tomato, chopped 1/4 cup shredded five cheese blend crackers and veggies for dipping Heat grill to medium heat. Place unwrapped cream cheese on 8 inch square sheet of foil; top with pesto, tomatoes and shredded cheese. Place foil on grill, cover with lid. Grill 8-10 min or until shredded cheese is melted and cream cheese holds its shape. Transfer to a platter and serve with veggies & crackers

32: It's all about the food. | Shrimp Puerto Penasco | 2 C White Rice 1/4 C White Wine Pinch Saffron Threads Pinch Salt 1T Canola Oil 24 large Gulf Shrimp, peeled & deveined 2 Jalapeno Peppers, deseeded & minced 2 cloves Garlic, minced 4T Tequila 2T White Wine 1T Honey 1/2T chopped, fresh Cilantro 1t. Salt 1/2 lb. Unsalted Butter Garnish: 2 Avocados, sliced Simmer 20 Minutes: Place the rice, wine, saffron, and salt in a pot with enough water to cover the rice by 1 inch. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer Saute and simmer several minutes: Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and peppers, and cook for 3 minutes, turning the shrimp constantly. Add the garlic, tequila, and wine. Cook until nearly evaporated. Add the honey, cilantro, and salt. Simmer for 2 minutes, until the liquid is nearly evaporated. Stir in the butter. Serve: Lay the shrimp on a bed of rice. Garnish with sliced avocados. Serves 4
33: Sausage Wonton Appetizers | Package ofWonton Wraps Spicy Italian Sausage I can of chopped water chestnuts green onion(optional) oil for frying vinegar for dipping Cook and crumble Italian sausage Mix with diced green onion and water chestnuts Fill wraps & seal with water Keep unused wraps covered with moistened towel as you continue filling & sealing Heat oil in sauce pan Fry wraps until browned Drain excess oil from fried wraps on paper towels Serve warm with your favorite dip or vinegar
