S: The Louis Family 2012

FC: 2012

What a year this has been! We've definitely faced some obstacles throughout 2012, but out of all of tho hurdles we've jumped through, our Heavenly Father stood by our side and guided us through it all! | 1 Peter 5:7 "cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."

Our little angels have grown so much throughout the 2012 year! Not only have they grown in their physical appearance but both of their hearts have grown spiritually as well. Kaylee continues to attend Calvary Kids Club at church as well as attends Sunday school regularly. She continues to learn more about the Lord and really yearns to share Him with others. Both her daddy and I love witnessing her gift of intercessory. She never fails to stop whatever she's doing and say, "Let's pray about it!" She continues to make our hearts happy. Additionally, our little man is learning about the Lord as he joins us in prayer before each meal while bowing his head and mumbling his own little prayer. His favorite part about praying is raising his hands and yelling, "A.....men!" Proverbs 20:11 "Even a child is known by his deeds, whether what he does is pure and right."

Caden continued to warm our hearts this year while keeping us on our toes (not to be taken lightly). Not too often does he have down time but his lively and loving character makes him that much more oh so special! This year he's learned to feed himself, make up games, say, "bye bye" and "i love you" among many other things. Our little man has quite a personality!

Our Caden is a smart cookie and is imitating more and more. At 2 years old, he enjoys playing the piano with grandma, | Taking mommy's cell phone and saying, "Hewoh" is one of his favorite games. He's also learned to cover his eyes to protect him from the scariness of the "Incredibles". lol | Mommy has made several trips to Target to ensure just one more thing is baby proofed -(stove) | Running away from mommy and hiding under the crib is a great way to avoid a diaper change!

Our little man is a little monkey no doubt! He is full of energy but such a lover! We've baby proofed and then proofed some more! We have enjoyed watching him throughout the year as he's changed in so many ways. Mommy and daddy love our little "boo boo".

The Lord will keep you from all harm, he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forever more. - Psalm 129:7, 8

Calvary Kids Club Kaylee enjoyed another year of Calvary Chapel's "Calvary Kids Club". This year's theme was "Pandamania".

Valentines Day is a day mommy looks forward to each year! It is one of the special days daddy spends time in the kitchen preparing a lovely dinner from scratch. This year we were presented with lovely, juicy pork chops with gourmet veggies and rice. To top off dinner, Kaylee and mommy made one large heart-shaped brownie!

We couldn't be more proud! She's just beautiful! | Such a poser!

Kaylee had the opportunity this year to be in her 1st dance recital for Center Stage Dance Academy. She did a wonderful job. The stage is her thing. | Job 21:11 - "They send forth their little ones like a flock, And their children dance."

Isaiah 54:13 - "All your children will be taught by the Lord,

and great shall be the peace of your children."

EGG | Easter at grandma and grandpa's is always a good time! | Caden is not big on posing!!

Caden's 1st time on an independent egg hunt!

The most important part of Easter is to remember the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! After attending grandma's church in Dublin, Ca on such a special day, we spent the afternoon dying easter eggs. Kaylee also took part in her 1st Easter Egg Hunt at her at school (1st grade).

 happy

Daddy continues to work as an aviation contractor. The Lord has been good and has kept him busy throughout most of the year. Daddy is very good at what he does hence why he's the first to be called for jobs. Earlier this year he was asked to fly to Texas to work on a Hawker aircraft. What a great experience that was!

This year that sneaky leprechaun came back. We woke up to our house thrown to shambles. Chairs were stacked on top of our island, green footprints were plastered all over counters, floors, and sinks, and those mischievous creatures left behind glittery gold that went for miles. After cleaning their mess up, we enjoyed a lucky leprechaun breakfast.

We had a fun-filled summer this year! Since mommy has become a Pinterest fanatic, the projects just kept coming. Some of our projects included fingerpaint in a bag, homemade playdo and gak, magnets in a bottle, plastic bubble makers, melted crayon art, fashion design, planting seeds, bubble art, and friendship bracelets just to name a few. We also were able to take advantage of free bowling. To top the summer off we enjoyed some movies, learning to ride a bike, camping inside the house, lemonade stands, and visiting Python Ron.

This summer was filled with days of swimming and more swimming. Kaylee went up to grandma and grandpa's for an intense week of swimming lessons. She is now swimming in the deep end. Another special event that took place was the invitation she received from her 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Luis to come swim at her house.

 Movie Night

For Father's Day our family enjoyed a fun-filled day at Pac Bell Park to watch a Giant's game. WE had high hopes of making a television appearance, therefore we made one of famous signs. We're not sure if we got lucky, but none the less we had fun making it for after all it was for Daddy's Day!

 Go Giants!

We had a 2nd opportunity this year to attend a Giant's game as grandma and grandpa invited us along with some other family members to go with them.

Orchard Elementary 1st Grade - Mrs. Luis So proud of our girl! She was awarded with the "Outstanding Owl" award for the month of June.

Our Kaylee girl participated in her 1st Talent Show this year as part of a 1st grade act. She memorized the "Jelly Bean Prayer" and recited it in front of a large audience. She did such a fabulous job! More importantly the poem represented her as one of God's children.

A father is his daughters first love and his sons first hero. | Like Father, Like Son

 day | happy

Women of Faith | Mommy and her bff Nancy attended this year's WOF conference and loved being fed the word of God! They enjoyed worshiping with Mandisa, Selah, and listening to many wonderful speakers.

This was one event we tried out this year just to say we did! None of us are asparagus lovers but would love to attend a broccoli festival in Gilroy soon (well at least 3 of us...Caden despises veggies)!

Kaylee's 1st Loose Tooth At 6 years old (not quite 7 at this point), Kaylee had her 1st loose tooth. She tied and tried to wiggle it out but it just wouldn't come. One night daddy was teasing her and said he'd tie a string around her tooth and attach the string to the door. Kaylee didn't like the idea until days later. While daddy didn't quite tie it to the door, he did use the floss to help pop the little guy out! That was just the first of 3 this year! What made losing her teeth most special was the visit she received from the tooth fairy. Not only did she leave silver dollars, she left pictures to prove her existence.

 Our 1st Annual Block Party

We love taking part in the holiday festivities by cooking thematically.

Our Family's Water Baptism This is one of those days our family will ever forget! Committing our lives to the Lord through a water baptism was something we all had placed upon our hearts as a priority and so we did just that. With each of us dedicated at birth along with this individualized choice, our family has now fulfilled one of many commandments.

Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved."

Caden started preschool 3 days a week at Calvary Temple's Planet Kids. He has come so far in just the last 2 months. He has learned to take turns when playing, drink from a cup, prays during meal time, says a few more words in addition to signing what he's communicating, and enjoys taking part in circle time. His teacher Miss Hazel has been nothing less than amazing with him...an absolute blessing.

This year had brought forth some changes involving many different turns. After resigning from the classroom, Christie graduated from Utah State with her B.S. in Communicative Disorders and was also accepted into a Master's Program at Nova University which she'll begin in 2014! While waiting to hear from graduate school, she was hired with California Virtual Academies where she teaches Middle School students online. We'll see what the Lord has planned for 2013.

Everyday we thank God for our little girl. She is not only beautiful on the outside but incredibly beautiful on the inside.

Hippie Day | Sparkle Day | Crazy Hat Day

 80's Day

Caden turned 2 this year and has been non-stop every since! We love our little bundle of energy and thank God for him as He has proved over and over again that our little guy is a pure miracle. For this year's theme, we went with "Despicable Me" as that was the movie (at the time) playing nonstop. Thanks to Pinterest, mommy got the idea of creating little minion cupcakes as well as minion pin ups. Psalm 127:3 - My children are a reward and gift from the Lord, and I will enjoy them."

This year was the 1st year both Kaylee and Caden went full on trick or treating. We started the evening off at Calvary Temple's Harvest Party and then continued on into a nearby neighborhood to practice our "trick or treat" script. This year was extra special as we were joined by our neighbor Divya and her family for this event.

Kaylee taking part in theHalloween centers in her 2nd grade class.

It is always so special to be able to spend time with our mama/grandma on her special day. To celebrate such a special day, having 4 generations around to spend it with makes it that much more special!

Every year on our baby's birthday, mommy and daddy wake her up with a cookie and a lit candle while singing "Happy Birthday". We just love watching her eyes light up with excitement that her big day is finally here. We love you baby girl!

Mommy loves decorating the house with birthday decor the night before Kaylee's big day. This year she awoke to a birthday sign blocking her doorway as well as balloons cascading down the stairwell.

For Kaylee's 7th birthday, she chose to have a "My Little Pony" (more specifically, Rainbow Dash) party. The house was filled with multi-colored this and multi-colored that!

Alyssa, Lilly, Cynthia, Natalie, Breece, and Brandon

Age is merely the number of years the world has been enjoying you.

Tim continues to coach for the Beyer wrestling team, making this his 11th year. He loves what he does and most importantly, loves witnessing and being a Godly example to the high school boys he coaches.

Each wrestling season brings more fun memories for Tim. Celebrating the victories of dual meets and tournaments, enjoying the enormous pancakes at the infamous Chuck's, playing pranks on the boys, and taking part in fellowship with others all make this commitment so worth it!

We are so grateful to have such a hands-on daddy who loves on us and wrestles us down to the floor whenever possible!

Did you say "We're going to grandma's?" When? Is it today? How many more days until we go to grandma's? Can I pack now? These are the questions I get when Kaylee knows she's going to the "mountains" to see grandma and grandpa.

One of both Kaylee and Caden's favorite thing to do is spend time with their grandma. Likewise, grandma is beyond in love with her babies and enjoys their time together singing, dancing, playing piano, cooking, cleaning, and loving one one another as much as she can!.

Mommy and daddy decided to surprise Kaylee with a spontaneous trip to the Del Osso's for their annual "Holiday on the Farm".

While visiting the farm, Kaylee was able to try out ice skating for the 1st time. She did great! Mommy and daddy were so proud of her for giving it a try!

....and the farm continues with a drive through light show to wrap up the evening!

The infamous "Elves on the Shelf" made their way back to our house this holiday season. This year upon their arrival, they set up a wonderful Christmas table setting for our family to enjoy the morning after Thanksgiving. Upon the table they left snow covered doughnuts, Christmas cups, plates, napkins, and place meats. Additionally, they brought Caden and Kaylee socks, a new ornament, the "Elf Story" movie, a personalized letter, and a clock that would countdown the days until Christmas. Our family enjoyed our elf breakfast together and wrapped up the morning with the exciting story of Flexis and Sparky.

Kaylee's 2nd grade class taking part in a Christmas Party filled with holiday activities, stocking stuffing, and good food! In addition to the holiday festivities, Mrs. Leonetti's class performed a wonderful medley of Christmas songs for all of the Orchard parents.

This Christmas we started a couple new traditions. First, mommy and daddy wrapped a box full of goodies and we couldn't open it until the night before Christmas Eve. The goodies included Christmas pajamas, hot chocolate, a Christmas movie, snowman mugs, and a family game. Finally, the other tradition we started was....well take a look at the pictures.

It is always a great time at grandma and grandpa's. This year not only did we enjoy a wonderful Christmas at their home, grandma also hosted a fun-filled New Year's Bash. Good company and great food!

Operation Christmas Box Kaylee was able to participate in her 2nd annual Operation Christmas Box donation through our church. It is such a blessing to be able to give to other children who have nothing. It is also important to teach our children about such selfless gestures and small acts of kindness. | 2 Corinthians 9:7 - "So let each one give as his purposes, in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver."
