BC: 2011 has been an eventful year for the Pickering family. At Christmas last year, we were anticipating our introduction to a church in Sulligent, AL as their prospective pastor and family. The first weekend after the New Year, we came and were overwhelmingly welcomed into First Baptist Church Sulligent. We closed the weekend by rushing home to beat the first of two big (for Mississippi) January snowstorms. We just missed being snowed in at Sulligent for a week - while Starkville's snow melted in a few days. We moved into our new home in the middle of February, and Jackson moved into school at Sulligent. This fall, he began 7th Grade at Sulligent High School and continued to be active in the band, playing trombone. This year he learned marching and traveled to every football game for the band to perform. He continues to enjoy sports, especially basketball, and has really enjoyed the Razor scooter he received for his 12th birthday in September. Byron is busier than ever with pastoral duties at a very active church with groups from preschoolers to senior adults. He is blessed with a talented and committed staff who are a wonderful asset to his ministry. He's still waiting to find time for hobbies, as he's had to take on a lot more home and parenting duties this year than ever before--including being the school parent for the first time. Charlotte has been tested by becoming the long commuter again, as she is still working at First Baptist Church of Starkville, which is 62 1/2 miles and an hour and fifteen minutes away. She often feels like she still lives in Starkville, but just sleeps and spends weekends in Sulligent. We stay so busy, we may be unpacking boxes for the next year! We are just excited to be in a house with lots of space and room enough to have a real Christmas tree for the first time in three years! We are so grateful for and amazed by the many detailed ways that God has answered several years' worth of our prayers. All of the trials and struggles we've had in the past few years have prepared us for this new chapter in our lives. We have found that no matter what the problem, He is faithful to take care of all our needs if we just wait on Him. We are thankful for the many ways you have blessed us in the time that you have been a part of our lives. You have helped us become who we are today and walked us through many of the ups and downs in our lives. We love and miss you all!
