BC: The End

FC: 2009 and 2010 Family Album

Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories. CathyAllen

Hannah Hartman's Birthday Party February 2009

Hannah Hartman was one of the first closest friends Naomi made at SACS. For Hannah's birthday, Jessica Welch, Hannah Olson, Naomi Sanders, Josh Rosen, and Nick Terreri met at Brackenridge Park where they grilled hamburgers and hung out. Later, the girls returned to Hannah Hartman's house for a slumber party.

 8th Grade RIOT

RIOT (Ridiculous Idiot Outrageous Thing) was a popular event for the 7th & 8th graders at SACS. Homerooms competed against each other in silly games like Chariot Races, Refrigerator Box Races, Relay Races, and Spelling Races. Naomi rode on a blanket pulled around the gym for the Chariot Race. She got inside a refrigerator box and walked across a circle, hoping not to get knocked over by other teams. She participated in the relay race dribbling a football and jumping through a hula hoop. Along with the rest of her class, Naomi helped use her body to form letters of words quicker than the other homerooms. RIOT was a great event to be silly and laugh.

Mr. Aguilar's Class with Hannah Hartman and Michelle Davis | 8th Grade Science Project

The girls conducted an experiment to find the best solution for removing bacteria from soda can tops.

2009 Landscape Project by Artistic Trees Rene Pena This was one of the best renovations we have done to our home. We enjoy the outside so much. When you see the before and after pictures, you realize how much it needed a do-over.

All things grow better with love.

The grass was dying on the side due to the West sun. It was shaded out and dying in other areas. The only green spot had grub worms. So tired of watering grass and barely keeping it alive. Time to get rid of the basketball goal too!

Extending our side porch was the most costly part of the job, but we also get the most benefit from it sitting outside watching the hummingbirds and all the beautiful colorful plants in the yard. So much more usable now.

 8th Grade Track

Naomi was not the fastest on the team, but she was dedicated and determined. She loved running. She loved being part of the team.

 8th Grade Track

HEB Camp, Leakey, Texas | SACS 8th Grade EOY Retreat

Naomi wanted to go on a foreign mission trip. It was amazing how many students were going on mission trips over the summer. I told Naomi though that we needed to take baby steps for me. Instead of going out of the country, we arranged for her to stay with YWAM in Dallas. It was the same house/mission that our friends started when we lived in East Texas. We had even visited them in Dallas once. David Funk agreed for Naomi to come spend 12 days with them staying in the mission house while he and the other staff person lived across the street. Naomi spent the 1st week with administrative tasks wondering how this related to ministry. The 2nd week they hosted a bible dance camp for the neighborhood kids. The entire trip changed her life focus and desire for inner city ministry.

The night before we dropped her off, our car was broken into at the hotel parking lot. When we told the police officer we were in town to take Naomi to 202 N. Orient Street, Dallas, he expressed his concerns. Whenever we told someone she was going to East Dallas, they expressed concerns! One night, Naomi called home and asked if we could hear the helicopters flying over and police cars outside the window. Just stay inside was our warning to her!

She had practices at 5:45 a.m. and again at 3:45 p.m. Made for long brutal days running in the heat. She never quit though. She loved and respected Coach Kenny.

 Texas State Champions!

Even though Naomi was only a freshman, due to all the injuries, she was going to state as an Alternate. I was at the STARS retreat. Brad wasn't even going to drive to Waco. Then she called and said she was running because Caitlan stayed back for a class officer event. Brad got there just in time. That evening when they showed up in Kerrville at retreat, I was shocked to see the medal hanging around her neck!!! Talk about a gift from God.

Celebrate end of Cross Country Season. end of two a day practices, and sleeping in late!!!!

Hannah Hartman went on a mission trip with Awe Star Ministries and wanted to go to the iGo conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma. So they skipped a day of school and loaded a van with 2 adult drivers to drive straight through.

Going from San Antonio were Naomi, Hannah and Becca Hartman, Mattie Whitten & Rachel Simmons. Naomi met a lot of new people, including Brian Vandever. She also got to hear speakers from 3rd world countries.
