BC: A wise friend of mine told me..."People will always let us down and even though it hurts, maybe it is to remind us that there is only one who never lets us down and that is God." I thanked her then and I thank her now for reminding me of that.
FC: Looking back at | 2011
Jan/Feb 2011 | It was an unusual winter here...it was white most of the time but the ice was minimal this year, which was great! God painted a beautiful landscape of winter for us! | This picture does not do the snow justice as the flakes were huge that day! It was hard to capture the beauty...
 I got Lillian 2 mermaid dolls | Cake...Games...Gifts...Fun!
Katie and I got together and made her a valentines box for school. We also made valentines for some of her friends and her mom and dad...she made a special valentine for our cousin Katelyn in Bowling Green. We mailed the card to Katelyn who was very tickled to get it from Katie...she asked her mom to frame Katie's picture for her!
Rascal loves to lay on the shelf behind my desk and relax when I am on the computer. He also likes this stool we put in front of the door so he can look out the window | One day Rascal found himself in the mirror and he kept jumping up on the back of the chair to look at his reflection...how vain! hahaha
The day the Robins invaded the neighborhood...they were flying around like crazy! I tried to open the door to take a picture but they were so thick outside that I was afraid one would fly in the house! I've never seen so many in one area before...I told my aunt Phyllis and she said they landed in her neighborhood too!
My cat was going crazy watching all these birds outside the house...he was meowing and making a clattering noise at them! It was hillarious!!!
Bible Study Group | Cindy | Lisa and Christy | Ellen and Debbie
Star | Cavalene and Shannon | Paula
Rascal takes over whatever room he happens to be in...it's his house, we just live with him. | Roy after his barber retired...haha
 Birthday Wishes!
Madison Johnson | Willa, Quinn, and Leah... growing up! | Kristyn senior picture | Hailey, Susan, and Ariel | Katelyn and Zachary
VACATION | highlights... | April 24-30, 2011 We went to the Smoky Mountains and stayed in Gatlinburg in a cabin called "Beary Cozy." I always rent from a company called Auntie Belhams. We had a great week, weather was perfect...there are other photo albums with more pictures than these.
Relaxing and just having a great time! We were keeping a little secret about this trip...
I Do... | April 28, 2011 Chapel At The Park Gatlinburg, TN
Wedding Wishes and Gifts... | ...yes my uncle has a sense of humor... | How did we tell everyone about the marriage...We decided to leave the sign in the back of the car window to see who saw it first...it was our neighbor RB Horn! After RB saw it, Roy took our vacation pictures around to each of his brothers and sisters to let them look at them...at the end of the album was a few snapshots we took in our wedding clothes...it was fun. Then we got on the phones and started texting and calling friends and family! | Also sent out cards with a picture to our family members and friends...and of course put on facebook
I was told a card was sent to my old workplace and they readdressed it and mailed it somewhere in Clarkson...we have no idea who it was from or where it went...or why it was sent to Head Start? | Before I decided to scan my cards and put in this book, I had cut the card from Wanda and her family to make a bookmark as a keepsake. The card was so pretty and had a gorgeous border with ribbon that made a perfect bookmark!
Ricky & Joanie surprised me one day and stopped by with a gift...the problem was I had just sat down at my desk to start my 2nd shift when they knocked on the door...so they understood and left our gift and I made sure to give them my work hours and invited them back anytime! The gift was a gorgeous mantle clock which I put in our living room! | Roy recently reconnected with an old friend of his, Denny Fentress. I haven't met the Fentress' yet but Roy speaks very highly of them and has really enjoyed getting together with Denny as often as they can. I was so touched when they sent us a $25 gift card to Applebees and a $25 gift card to Bed Bath and Beyond. It was so thoughtful from a couple that I haven't even had a chance to meet yet. | My cousin Sherlyn took me out to eat at Ruby Tuesdays to celebrate my marriage! We had a great day!
Lowell, Jewellene, Pam got us a very nice gift...it was a cream colored crock "warmer" that is used to melt wax air fresheners. I loved it!
My aunt Nancy sent us money, which I used to plant some flowers in our new flower bed and we also ate lunch out one day. | In my opinion there are three events in life that are truly blessings from God and a grand celebration...everything else is just gravy. 1) Salvation & Baptism 2) Marriage 3) Children I don't have pictures to commemorate the first but I do have my memory of it...The second kind of went by quietly but I do have my pictures...I won't celebrate the third. Life is funny sometimes...
Roy's brothers and sisters gave us $240. We purchased a Family Bible and a small freezer. | Kelli and Charlie White gave us this beautiful plague which I hung in our living room! Special thanks to them, Kelli is a special friend! | Mom and dad gave us $100 to pay for the pictures or whatever we needed to use it for on the wedding, thanks mom and dad!
Mark and Amy Farmer sent us the "Live and Love" plaques for a wedding gift...they are so kind. Roy has been friends with them for years but I have only begun to get to know them. This was touching and very unexpected. | I was visiting Aunt Gail one day and she gave me this plaque from Tammy and Jimmy. It is perfect with my other decor!
Denny and Terry Fentress They also included pictures of their pets, which I loved!!! I love animals so much!! | Fun snapshots of the John's Family!
I met Bertha several years ago at a family reunion. She is the daughter of papaw Johnson's brother Carlie. We have kept in touch over the years...here are a few of the letters I found she had written to me... | 2008 | 2009
Emily was one of mom's oldest friends, they had a craft shop together in Morgantown when I was young. She was a special lady that I will always have fond memories of. | Uncle Dewey's funeral was the most heart-felt, touching, and beautiful service I have attended. Darrell Dockery spoke briefly about growing up and visiting with Dewey...Jason sang...then Shawn spoke on behalf of the grandkids. Wow, he was so eloquent while he spoke of memories of growing up with his grandpa. I was proud of him, I can only imagine Joyce's feelings while she listened to her son speak. We should all be so lucky to have such wonderful things spoken about us after we are gone...even while we are living...
Dewey was my Great Uncle, a brother to Mamaw Bratcher. I was blessed to have gotten to know him in his senior years...he is another relative I looked up when I wanted to get more information for my family tree. He was wonderful to talk to! He was so open with me...he even talked about the war...He fought in WWII. At first his group was sent to France, one by one he watched his friends be sent to Germany each week; he was among the last to be deployed. He said it was hard, but you just had to do it. It was kill or they would kill you. There were days they did not eat, it just depended on how much fire was close to them. When someone did come around with food and maybe coffee, the soldiers had to give them a password to get the food. He smiled when he said "maybe coffee" and said that it was a good day if you had coffee instead of water. He said he grew to hate canned food and when he returned home he told Vivian he did not want food from a can! He chuckled when he told me that part... He told me that he thought about the war every day of his life but he said you couldn't let it consume you, you just had to go on. He was a pretty great man and I'm so glad I took the time to visit and get to know him! | My last visit to Uncle Dewey and Aunt Vivian's house I took this picture. It was this day that Vivian told me she had Alzheimers. 2009

I'm trying my hand a planing flower beds on each side of the sidewalk...hoping next year they will be full, added some purple old fashioned iris throughout. Below is a picture of my dream house...I want porch rails so bad...I drew these on to give Roy a visual and make him see it would improve the curb appeal! | Before and After

After returning home from shopping, I put away all of the groceries and noticed my little helper made himself comfortable in one of my bags! | Rascal lets Roy know when he has had enough playing...he will push on his hand with his paws to stop him from petting him or trying to play.
It gets harder and harder to come up with a gift for mamaw...so this year I decided to make her a collage of her kids when they were young and today. It turned out great and I know she will appreciate it. I'm also going to print copies for my aunts and uncles as a little extra in their Christmas Cards! | Ruby with her husband Chester
Aunt Ruby, mamaw Johnson's sister, passed away. She was a beautiful woman who still enjoyed hand sewing her clothes to make them fit her better. She was an amazing little lady and we were blessed to have her for 94 years. The photo with the roses was taken by the staff at the nursing home on her birthday just a couple of weeks before she had to go to the hospital. | Ruby
