12: -600 AD there were five important Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. They were Northumbria, Mercia, Wessex, Kent and East Anglia.

13: - Offa was King of Mercia from 757 to 796 - Mercia was the strongest kingdom in Anglo-Saxon England - Offa was the most powerful English king. -Offa issued England's first penny coins in silver

14: - Only king in British history to be called a great - B. 849 D. 899 - Father was king of Wessex - Fought and made peace with the Vikings - Encouraged people to learn and governed fairly - King for all of England

15: -Normans invaded England in 1066 - Won the invasion, ending the Anglo-Saxon period.
