1: CLOTHING | Women coif, shift, waistcoat, apron, petticoat, shoes, cap,corset
2: Men | Puritans wore clothes made of linen and wool. | The puritans had a very strict religion so they dressed conservatively | Men wore felt hats, ruffs, doublet, cuffs, breeches, garters, stockings, and shoes.
3: HOMES | They lived in small wooden homes with straw roofs and fireplaces. The wealthy had windows and wooden shingles. | A palisade was a wooden wall that was built around the store house church and many homes.
4: Family Life | Familys were few and fragile. The man out numbered the women. Women were in demand and were seldom single for long. Disease drastically shortened life spans. | Puritans did a lot more manual labor because they lacked the technology that we have today. Their society was more conservative.
5: Food & Religion | Puritan women made backed beans on Saturdays. Left over beans were served with bread for Sunday breakfast and again for lunch. | Because of their strict religion they believed that Sunday was a day of rest so they didnt dp chores or cook.

8: Biography of Nathaniel Hawthorne | Hawthorne was born in Massachusetts. He was the son of Elizabeth CLark Manning and Nathaniel Hawthorn. His father died when he was four years old.He felt guilty because his grandfather officiated the Salem Which Trials. | He perceived nature as an intoxicated garden. He was extremely sexist because he was against female writers.
