2: Adeline was born unwanted because her family felt she was the reason of her mothers death, seeing as that her mother died giving birth to her.
3: After the death of their mother, her father married her stepmother, Niang. Niang treated the children as a disgrace but her children as royalty.
4: Adeline loved her grandmother Nai Nai. Nai Nai was the only one that could control Niang. But Nai Nai died and because of the death of Nai Nai, Niang took control of the house and noone would stand up to her, not even Adeline's fauther.
5: Adeline got a best friend (Wu chung-mei), and when she had this friend, she also got another best friend, her pet PLT. PLT was one of her best friends, her beloved pet that she could talk to and take care of. PLT was killed by her step sibilings dog.
6: Adeline's best friend had a birthday party, and because Adeline was not allowed to spend time with friends outside of school, she had to go to the party during the day, when she came home and was caught by Niang she was whipped and not able to go back to the party. Niang and Father made Adeline move out of her Aunt Baba's room because they felt Aunt Baba was a bad influence on Adeline.
7: Adeline loved school and was elected class president thanks to the help of her best friend. When Adeline went home all of the girls in her class that had voted for her followed her to her house bearing gifts. She was unaware of this until she was told to go downstairs. Niang yelled at her slapped her and told her to get rid of her friends. When she came out to tell everyone to leave, she had been crying and had a nose bleed.
8: Adeline's fauther and Niang sent her back to her boarding school in soon to be communist, Tianjin. She was the last to leave the school to go to Hong Kong. Rescued from her boarding school by Niang's kind loving sister.
9: Adeline's older sisters' family (husband, and daughter) moved to Tianjin. Her brothers went to college in England. Adeline's grandfather became her inspiration to succeed. When she went to her grandfathers funeral, she was the only one to cry.
10: (Text Here) | Adeline became top of her class and was two grade levels ahead of her age. She was able to go to college with her third brother in England. Her Aunt Baba sent her a letter telling of how proud she was of Adeline, and giving the inspiration behind the title "Chinese Cinderella". Adeline truly was the Chinese Cinderella.
