2: Tang Empire | > The Tang Empire was formed after Sui Yangdi's death. > Their leader was Tang Taizong reigned from 627 - 649 > They used a equal-field system to insure correct distribution of land to suppress concentration of land ownership > They founded gunpowder

3: > They grew fast ripening rice > They used new metallurgical techniques > They produced iron and steel, and used coke in the furnace instead of coal > They had high quality porcelain, paper money, extensive irrigation system including dikes, reservoirs, dams, and canals

4: Song Dynasty | > They were reorganized China after Tang collapse > They were the least militarized of all Chinese dynasties and not a very powerful state > They put more importance on civil administration, industry, and education > Song Taizu reigned over the Song Empire from 960 - 976 > Taizu had a reputation for honesty and effectiveness
