1: During the Civil War many advancements in technology played a major role in he civil war (Gatling gun),(musket),(rifle),(cannon),(Colt handguns),(Sharps Carbine),(Winchester Rifle),(Grenades),(M1819 Hall rifle)
2: Gatling gun The Gatling gun saw only little use in the Civil War
3: although the Gatling gun was not used much Maj. Gen. Benjamin F. Butler, after a field test bought 12 for $1,000 each and two were used on the Petersburg front in 1864 and were considered successful.
4: Musket/Rifle The muzzle loading 58 caliber rifled musket and Rifle was the most used weapon of the American Civil War used by the confederate and union army's
5: The Musket and Rifle was the most used weapon in the Civil War even by both sides the Union and the Confederates the Musket/Rifle had a large end to hold a bayonet these didn't have vary good range so commonly the soldiers had to fight in close range.
6: The civil war cannon was a major weapon in the civil war for both the Confederate and the Union the Cannon was used mainly at a top of a hill faced down at there enemy it shot many different kinds of ammunition with many different things in Cannon balls from glass to nails to even shards of metal
7: The Cannon was not very easy to move even thought it has wheels soldiers often had to pull it up and down hills the Cannon was one of the most important weapons of the Civil War.
8: Handguns the Handguns during the civil war were not common in the infantry but the officers and cavalrymen often had them for protection the Union had a large supply of revolvers and pistols the Confederate army had a limited supply of handguns so the confederates often stole guns from the Union
9: The Handgun was not a common weapon in the civil war although some military leaders did have them the Confederates stole weapons from the Union. Most the Handguns were Pistol, Revolvers, and Colts
10: Civil War Grenades The Grenades were one of the most affective Weapons of the Civil War they caused great damage to enemy troops they were used by both sides its described as a small shell 2 inches in diameter with a short fuse to ignite the Grenade
11: The grenade was a very important weapon in this war being tossed into enemy troops and wiping out many troops the Grenade was used for many years before the civil war
12: the results of the weapons in the war Gatling gun The Gatling gun was a powerful weapon in the war although it wasn't used much it was considered successful Muskets/Rifles this was the most used weapon in the Civil War by far this weapon was the most important weapon in the war without it the solder's most likely would have used a variety of different weapons
13: Cannon The cannon was a very important weapon in the war the cannon would be put on a hill top and were shot down at enemy troops this was the only weapon the was widely used that you didn't need to be in close combat to use Grenade The Grenade was a very powerful weapon in the civil war with the Grenade troops were able to attack many troops with out having to getting to close the was a fairly important weapon in the war without it the war would be all close combat for the soldiers
