S: 2007 - 2008
BC: The End
FC: 2007 - 2008 | You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them. | The Candioto Family
Over the past year, we sold our house and land in Decatur and Gramps bought land in Cottondale... 70 acres with two ponds, a barn and lots of deer. It was beautiful and we could not wait to get started building our new home in what truly would be PARADISE for our family. | A NEW BEGINNING
So we packed up all of our things and put them in storage for the next year. Our dear friends, Allan Ray and Nelda Young offered us a place to stay. They had recently built a 700 square foot loft above their garage. It was the perfect place for us until we could make the permanent move to Paradise.
Although is was a little cramped, the kids still invited their friends over for sleepovers and managed to find ways to have lots of fun. Bryan Pewitt and Cade dressed up as Captain Hook and Peter Pan. Kendall invited her new friend Savannah Wilson to spend the night. | Kochise and Sassy became best of friends, sometimes playing, but mostly sleeping together.
Labor Day Weekend 2007 | The water was freezing but the kids insisted on getting wet. | Like father, like son!! | Dad and Cade hiking along the banks of the river. | We loaded up the family for a long weekend in Broken Bow, OK. We had a lot of fun enjoying the quiet hiking trails and the cool Mountain Fork River.
Although the peace and quiet of the nature trails was nice, nothing compared to the thrill of tubing in the boat that we rented for a day on Beavers Bend Lake. This was the kids first time to innertube and they loved it!
Cade was so worried about flashing a fake smile on picture day that he did not smile at all. Then later had to go talk to the counselor because he was so upset...he thought Mom would be mad at him for not having a good school picture! | Kendall, on the other hand, could not have looked cuter with her new school haircut!
The new school year brought so many fun things to do and learn. Cade enjoyed showing off his ALL ABOUT ME board to his class and both Cade and Kendall helped to build the 3 little Pigs houses out of straw, sticks and stone, a project that Kendall had to do. Both kids got into the school spirit on hat days.
Allen Ray and Nelda's dog, Lovey, had 1/2 Golden Retriever 1/2 Yellow Lab puppies while were were staying in the loft. The kids loved watching them grow and playing with them until it was time to have to give them away. They were sooooo cute!
Cade and Kendall dressed as a vampire and bride on their own and then invaded the church trunk or treat as pirates. Kendall held Hadleigh Anthony hostage and Mrs. Gentry was thrilled to see her two favorite pirates at her door that night.
Kendall played a ballerina in the school play. She posed with friends Savannah Wilson, Kaycee Martin and Shaelyn Spidle. | Cade so badly wanted the part of Tarzan, which his friend Bryan Pewitt got. But after Cade's performance with his solo rap, it was obvious why Mrs. Boyd picked him for that part. Corbin dressed as a rhino in Tarzan's jungle.
A Christmas To Remember... | Christmas Eve tradition at Grams and Gramps' house. | CC
Santa still managed to find us Christmas morning and Christmas was just as exciting as ever!! | Not sure how Santa managed to get it in his sleigh, but he brought the kids a new 4-wheeler for the new place. | CHRISTMAS MORNING!!
Holiday Memories Warm Even The Coldest Of Days | Even Me-ma and Pa-Pa came to the loft for a Christmas visit. The Chrismas of 2007 will always have such sweet memories for our entire family.
 Basketball 2008
2nd grade UIL Academic Competition | Cade finished fourth in Story Telling and first in Creative Writing!
One of the biggest snow storms ever caused school to be let out early. It took us two hours to drive back to Decatur. The kids spent the rest of the afternoon and the next day building a snow family and playing with the dogs in the snow.

Kendall and Hadleigh Anthony celebrated their 7th birthdays together with a swim party at the Denton Indoor Pool. They had a lot of great friends come and join in the fun!
Spring Soccer...what a season!! Our team was undefeated and won a very close game to take the championship title of the 8U division. | "Whose ball is it?...our ball! If they don't score, they don't win!"
 1st place
 SPRING '08
Cade's G.T. study all this year was about being "green" and appreciating our environment and everything in it, including bugs. Their end of the year showcase included showing off their environmental projects and eating bugs! They ate Bar B-Q meal worms, salt and vinegar crickets and for dessert...lollipops with various bugs inside them...YUM!!!
Mrs. Gentry | Mrs. Morales | Both Cade and Kendall enjoyed a very exciting and successful year in school. They learned so much and made great friends. Mrs. Morales and Mrs. Gentry were the perfect teachers for them.
Summer Camps Cade decided he wanted to play football in the Fall so he went to the Bridgeport Football camp where he won several awards. Kendall had fun at her first basketball camp too with several of her really good friends. | P | A | N | T | H | E | R | S
Grams and Gramps took us on an awesome patriotic summer trip to the Washington DC area. Our first stop was Mt. Vernon. Cade and Kendall posed with George and Martha Washington before entering their plantation. It was so interesting to see how our first president lived so many years ago.
The view from the back of the house looking onto the Platomic River was absolutley gorgeous!
The Washingtons...ridin' in style! | The Washingtons...riding in style! | A young George and Martha? | The tomb where Washington is buried
Stars 'n' Stripes Forever | The U.S. Capital Building | The U.S. Capital Building
So many amazing sights in D.C. | The Lincoln Memorial | The Washington Memorial | The Jefferson Memorial
Union Station | U.S. Supreme Court | Smithsonian Castle
Jamestown, VA The kids enjoyed seeing how the early settlers arrived and lived in the new found America.
One day we went to Virginia Beach. The waves were awesome! The kids (all 3 of them) had so much fun riding on the boogie boards.
One of the coolest things we did was tour the Arlington National Cemetery. It was a very humbling experience. The changing of the guard of the unknown soldier was especially moving. It makes you really appreciate the sacrifice so many Americans have made for the freedom we enjoy in our country
Amazing Fun on the Fourth | Our final stop was in Willimasburg, VA. It was really interesting to see the shops and businesses running just like they did in the colonial days.
There were a lot of other fun times in the summer too, like our family going to 6 flags with our free tickets for reading and going to Hawaiian Falls with the Fords.
The summer always ends with a very special boy's birthday. Cade turned 9 and invited lots of friends to a party at the Bridgeport park which ended with swimming in the pool.
