5: As conventional or unconventional as it may be, Raghu and Sumi met through their parents. Initially both of them were just as skeptical about the idea and each had their own reservations about what to expect. However, they both approached the situation with an open mind.
6: On one fall evening, Sumi unsuspectingly opened her email and there was a message from a ‘Raghu Tadikamalla’ waiting to be read. The subject of the email was ‘Hello’. She was indifferent and curious at the same time. She opened the message with little expectation sand as she started to read through the email, she was hooked, and before the end of the email she found herself smiling. It’s not very often that someone catches her attention. So she stayed up to respond to his message. After writing about 3 pages, she realized that it was time to go to bed. | '...Smiling,,,'

12: The Proposal | On the weekend of February 27th, 2009, Raghu and Sumi headed up to Pittsburgh to spend some quality time with Raghu’s parents and family. On Saturday February 28th, 2009, Raghu wanted to take Sumi out to dinner. She kept suggesting that his family should join them as well, but Raghu insisted that they keep it to a romantic evening for two :) He took her to dinner at LeMont on Mt. Washington, which overlooks the view of downtown Pittsburgh’s beautiful Golden Triangle. In the elegant restaurant perched atop Mount Washington their seats gave them a panoramic appreciation for the hum of a city on a Saturday evening. It was a viewing pleasure as they dined by candlelight. After a lovely meal, Raghu led Sumi to the dance floor and swayed her to the tunes of a lovely band singing romantic classics. As they were dancing, Raghu whispered into Sumi’s ears some of the most beautiful sentiments about their relationship. Shortly after, Raghu took Sumi to the Duquesne Incline overlook which was located outside of the restaurant. They stood arm in arm overlooking the city. Far below, a ferry churned up the water of the Monongahela River at dusk. The horseshoe-shaped Heinz field, home of the storied Pittsburgh Steelers, looked like a small but beautiful toy field. A cluster of hotels and centers of commerce created a steel-and –glass skyline. The lights of PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, broke the darkness. And there, as they both looked at each other lovingly, Raghu professed his love for Sumi.and on one knee, under a perfect night sky and above the beautiful city, Raghu asked Sumi to marry him, and with tears of joy and overwhelmed with excitement she said YES!
