2: Giovanni Boccaccio was born in Florence, Italy in the year 1313.
3: Boccaccio worked at a bank when he was young. He later decided to study law at the Studium.
4: Boccaccio decided that he enjoyed law no more then he had enjoyed banking. He found that his true love was poetry.
6: He grew up to be an accomplished Italian writer, humanist, and founder of the Renassaince.
8: Boccaccio's most famous work was known as the Decameron.
9: His other works include: On the Genealogy of the Gods of the Gentiles, The Corbaccio, The Biography of Dante, and Concerning Famous Women, as well as his many works of poetry.
10: Boccaccio was inspired by many people, including Paolo da Perugia, Barbato da Sulmona, and Giovanni Barrili.
12: Boccaccio also had many associates, including Catherine of Valois- Courtenay, Queen Joan I of Naples and Francesco Petrarch.

14: Boccaccio never married. He did, however, father three children- Mario, Giulio, and Violente.
16: Giovanni Boccaccio was a great man, though he seemingly had no respect for women. He had many friends, such as Niccolo Acciaioli.
17: Throughout his life, his passion was always poetry.
18: Boccaccio became obese in his later years. He suffered many illnesses because of it.
19: Giovanni Boccaccio lived a great life as an Italian writer and humanist. He died on December 21, 1375. His works will live on.
