3: MAKING MEMORIES

4: Mom, I love this picture taken on my wedding day, as I step into adulthood. You are so beautiful inside and out! Thank you for your never ending example of what a loving wife and mother does for those she loves. You were so patient as I was growing up, teaching me with wisdom and common sense. I have tried to carry your teachings with me in rearing my own family. Thanks for your wonderful example of love and faithfulness. I will be forever grateful! You always served lovingly and faithfully, your husband, us children, your whole family and the Lord and His Church. Thank you so much for your wonderful example that extends on through your children and children's children, through generations. I love you, Judy

8: Easter was something I looked forward to every year when I was a child because we got to spend them at your house. Those fond memories have lasted with me to this day. Easter with my kids would not be complete without the root beer floats and strawberry shortcake that remind me of you. Thanks for the memories and traditions. Love, Sarah (DeMille)

16: Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories. ~Cathy Allen

19: My favorite memory of Grandma and Grandpa is helping them to build their house in St. George. We spent 2 weeks during the Thanksgiving season with them. We were both in the trailer park there in Washington. We had a camper. And they were in their motor home. It was a very cold wet 2 weeks. Our camper roof leaked. Jacob was 3 1/2 and Shawna was 1 1/2. I took my sewing machine and toys for the children and we spent most of the days in the club house there. I remember that Grandma made reservations at Dick's Cafe for Thanksgiving dinner. She thought this would be so good, no cooking. I think we ate about 1 or 2 in the afternoon. It was pretty good food. But come 7:00 at night we all were looking for a turkey sandwich. But there were no leftovers. It was really sad. It was great to help them with the house. But I never did get warm that winter. It is really cold staying in a camper during the winter. I am so grateful to Mom and Dad for their wonderful examples. They have taught me so much. They are great examples of working for what you need and want. Thanks Mom and Dad. Love, Peggy | The thing that I have learned from Mom and Dad is the ability to work. They have both taught me to be willing to work and work hard. It took me many, many years to be able to out work my dad. Even when it happened the first time it was only rarely that it happened two days in a row. Working hard is a virtue. Love, Mark Stevens

26: HAPPY BIRTHDAY

28: Grandma, Going to your house to visit was always so fun! I loved going camping with you and Grandpa and playing cards. I loved spending Easter with you two. We are so happy we have you in our lives. You are a wonderful grandma. We love you! Love, Amy, Roger, Abby, Kolob and Ammon Gale

36: Millie immigrated to America with her family from Germany when she was 6 yrs old, eventually settling in the Salt Lake City area where she graduated from West High School. She married Bob just before he left to serve in the Navy during WWII. After the war they moved to California where their first 4 children were born, then moved to Roy, Utah in 1954 where the last 2 were born. In 1985, after all their children were married, they built a home in Washington and have lived there since. Millie and Bob love traveling and have visited many countries with friends and family. They even took all their children and spouses on a Mediterranean cruise to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. Mom has been a shining example of unconditional love and loyalty to her family and faithful service in her church work. We, her children, know we would not be where we are today if it wasn't for her love and example. Her family is her life, we never question her love. Her faithful testimony to the church is a shining example to all who know her.

37: I have lots of memories of Grandma and Grandpa. One of my favorites is when they used to come to our house for a week during the summer. I remember we would mark on our calendar when they were coming and we would always ask Mom, "When are they coming?" or "How many more days till they get here?" And when they finally got to our house I loved going out to their trailer in the morning to eat breakfast with them. I also remember Grandma teaching me how to use a nail file to take care of my nails and make them look nice. But the most memorable times is when I would just sit with them and talk to them about their earlier years, when they were first married. How they met and I would talk to Grandpa about the war and his training and all the different places that they lived while he was in the Navy. And I would talk to Grandma about the different jobs that she had while she was waiting for Grandpa to get out of the war. I love to hear about all their stories and fun times that they have had together. There is one picture that I love! It's one of the two of them and they are on a beach I believe in California and Grandpa is sitting behind Grandma with his arm around her. My sisters and I all agree that they look like a movie star couple having fun on the beach, they look so good together! My family and I love to play cards with them whenever we get a chance. They taught us all how to play Shanghi and Hand and Foot and we love those games to this day. That is always one of my favorite memories is all the times that we have sat and played cards and teased and laughed over cards. Love, Hailey Beveridge
