3: Dear Diary, Life in Los Alamos is peaceful I suppose. Many of the scientist we have hired for this project will arrive here today. I will be there to welcome them, of course. then later I have a conference planned to tell them the rules of this place. What we are about to do is absolutely top secret. I wont even write what it is in this diary right now. Well, until then. -April 5, 1943

Who knows I might be wrong. - January 1944 Dear Diary, I guess I was right about Kidtiakowsky. Things didn't go as planed with him, but now we are starting an implosion theory group to get things moving. - January 11, 1944 | Picture of George Kistiakowsky
7: An atomic bomb going off | Dear Diary, Work is going good still, Kistaikowsky believe it or nor is actually now the leader of the implosion team now, weird huh? -February 16, 1944 | Dear Diary, Today we started testing a dummy bomb. We're hoping that with these test we will give us some idea of how the bomb does when in use. Today the results were promising. I pray that things continue at this rate.
8: Dear Diary, I haven't written in such a long time in this diary. In fact, I can't even remember the last time I wrote in here actually. Anyway, thats not important. To day we saw the fruits of our work for the first time. After planning and planning, and working and working, today I was the real bomb, the real thing, explode before my very own eyes. It worked, it really worked! There are no words to express how I feel right now. After 3 years, the Manhattan Project is complete. -July 16, 1945
