FC: KYLE/BUDA VFW POST 12058 LADIES AUXILIARY MEMBERSHIP 2011-12
1: A booth was set up at the Kyle Market Days on Saturday September 3, 2011 (8:00 am – 2:00pm) by the Kyle/Buda VFW Post 12058 and the Ladies Auxiliary. The purpose of the booth was for recruiting members for both the Ladies Auxiliary and VFW. Members “worked the crowd” promoting membership in the Auxiliary.
5: The Ladies Auxiliary of the Kyle/Buda VFW Post 12058 ran a membership drive at the Hootenanny on the Hill at Plum Creek in Kyle on Saturday October 8, 2011. Auxiliary members, along with VFW members arrived to set up the membership/sales tent at 8:00 am; the event ran until 2:00 pm with take down lasting until 3:00pm. Four Auxiliary memberships were handed out at this event.
8: Working with the Kyle/Buda VFW Post 12058, the Ladies Auxiliary assisted with the concession stand at the Kyle Invaders' home football game on Saturday October 22, 2011. The Event was held at Simon Middle School on HWY 150 in Kyle. The VFW Post and Ladies Auxiliary members arrived to set up the sales tent and get familiar with the concession stand at 9:00 am; the event ran until 3:00 pm. Membership Tables were set up for VFW Post/Ladies Auxiliary and Junior Girls. Three Ladies Auxiliary memberships were handed out along with one Junior Girls membership form.
12: The Kyle/Buda VFW Post 12058 and the Ladies Auxiliary hosted a Veterans’ Breakfast at the Old Kyle City Hall on Saturday October 29, 2011. Purpose of the breakfast was to honor all Kyle/Buda Veterans and their families and to recruit new members to the post. Auxiliary members, along with VFW members arrived to prepare breakfast and set up tables at 7:00 am. The breakfast ran from 8 am to 10 am. Two Auxiliary memberships were handed out along with one Junior Girl application.
17: The Kyle/Buda Ladies VFW Auxiliary Post 12058 and the VFW Post members participated in The Dia de Los Muertos Extravaganza held at Gregg-Clark Park in Kyle on Saturday November 5, 2011, from 10 – 2. We had patriotic coloring pages for local youth. We did recruiting for the Ladies Auxiliary, Junior Girls, and VFW. This is an annual community event with over 2,500 community members in attendance. We signed up one new Auxiliary member. The VFW also signed up a new member and we handed out applications to his wife and young daughter who were interested in the Auxiliary and Jr. Girls.
