Family Ties Are precious things Woven through the years, of laughter, love and tears. Family ties are cherished things forged in childhood days, by love of parents deep and true, by tradition, by family ways. Family ties are treasured things and far though we may roam, the tender bonds with those we love still pull our hearts toward home.

 Nanny & Pa

When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not here to see... If the sun should rise and find your eyes filled with tears for me, I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today... While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you...

And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love. So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart... For every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart. | And each time you think of me, I know you'll miss me, too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand... That Jesus came and called my name and took me by the hand, And said my place was ready in heaven far above...

If you don't understand how a woman could both love her sister dearly and want to wring her neck at the same time, then you were probably an only child. | -Linda Sunshine-

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow i am the diamond glints on the snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gental autumn rain When you wake in the mornings hush I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight I am the soft stars that shine at night Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there,I did not die

 Don & Sissy

I didn't marry you because you were perfect. I didn't even marry you because I loved you. I married you because you gave me a promise. That promise made up for your faults. And the promise I gave you made up for mine. Two imperfect people got married and it was the promise that made the marriage. And when our children were growing up, it wasn't a house that protected them; and it wasn't our love that protected them - it was that promise.

BOY {n}: a noise with dirt on it; something that can make you frustrated, tired, happy and complete at the same time

"A child enters your home and makes so much noise for twenty years that you can hardly stand it: then departs leaving the house so silent that you think you will go mad"

 Mike & Laura

 Steven & Crystal

Grandchildren are the dots that connect the lines from generation to generation.

Before I was a dog parent: I made and ate hot meals unmolested. I had unstained, unfurred clothes. I had quiet conversations on the phone, even if the doorbell rang. Before I was a Dog Parent: I slept as late as I wanted And never worried about how late I got to bed or if I could get into my bed. Before I was a Dog Parent: I cleaned my house every day. I never tripped over toys, stuffies, and chewies or invited the neighbor's dog over to play. Before I was a Dog Parent: I didn't worry if my plants, cleansers, plastic bags, toilet paper, soap or deodorant were poisonous or dangerous. Before I was a Dog Parent: I had never been Peed on, Pooped on, Drooled on, Chewed on Or Pinched by puppy teeth. Before I was a Dog Parent: I had complete control of my thoughts, My body and mind. I slept all night without sharing the covers or pillow. Before I was a Dog Parent: I never looked into big, soulful eyes and cried. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop a hurt. I never knew something so furry and four-legged could affect my heart so deeply. Before I was a Dog Parent: I had never held a sleeping puppy just because I couldn't put it down. I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was well. I didn't know how warm it feels inside to feed a hungry puppy. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important. Before I was a Dog Parent: I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a dog parent.

 Charlie

Family life is full of major and minor crises -- the ups and downs of health, success and failure in career, marriage, and divorce -- and all kinds of characters. It is tied to places and events and histories. With all of these felt details, life etches itself into memory and personality. It's difficult to imagine anything more nourishing to the soul. - Thomas Moore--

“Family love is messy, clinging, and an annoying and repetitive pattern, like bad wallpaper.”
