FC: A Star's Life in a Diary

1: For my sister Janine and Dad for helping me with understanding what I'm doing in science. Micaela Brandt

2: In the Beginning Star's start as a ball of gas and dust.Then gravity will start to pull on their starting material and makes it into a sphere. Before the star forms other things go through the nebula. As the sphere forms the sphere becomes denser and hotter. It has hydrogen that changes to helium, which is called nuclear fusion.

3: The First stage as a ball of gas and dust

4: The second stage: Main-Sequence Star

5: In My Childhood In the Main-sequence stage the energy is generated in the core while hydrogen atoms fuse to helium atoms. The process releases a gigantic amount of energy for the star. During the rest of the stage the star grows a little bit and more fuses happen to make the star into a Supergiant or Giant star.

6: As an Adult After the Main-sequence stage the star becomes and adult. It first expands then cools after using its hydrogen. That causes the star to shrink into a smaller star. As it shrinks the atmosphere grows large and cools into a supergiant or a giant star. Sometimes they can be 10 times bigger than the sun. But usually it's 100 times bigger than the sun.

8: White Dwarf

9: The End of My Life The final stage is a White Dwarf. It has the same mass as the sun, and can be smaller. A White Dwarf is a small hot, dim star that is the leftover center of an old star. It has no hydrogen left and can't generate energy by fusing hydrogen atoms to helium atoms. BUt they can shine for years until it "burns" out of light.
