“Hey Mike. Where are thou’t going?” asked a curious older brother. “Hence, to the kingdom of thy lord!” Young Michelangelo proclaimed back.
“Mother would never have allowed this atrocious behavior!” Yelled the older and much wiser brother. Still it was too late, young Michelangelo was off to the catholic church missing grammer school again.
When mike arrived at the Catholic Church the pope was kneeling silently in prayer. He quietly trying not be heard sat on the old bench in the back of the big chapel an before he had a chance to choose which painting he wanted to draw
heard the pope ask “Here again Michelangelo?” “Yes Mon senior.” “You know your father will be angry when thus gets home before dawn. Should not thou be at school of grammar?
? “Yes Mon senior, I was summoned to go to school but I do not like school or grammar. It is all boring for my love is with painting, sculpting, architecture, poems, and engineering.
I do not wish to be a grammar teacher or reader for higher authorities!” replies Mike hastily.
“We all have our places in the world Michel, you will find yours soon enough. But as for now you’ve sinned by refute so you owe the church currency of Florence.”
Michelangelo paid the pope and headed for his journey home. He passed a sign that said “Apprentice painters needed master Ghirlandaio is teaching 1 lucky artist who shall be picked through an art contest.”
Hearing this Mike ran home to tell his father (Lodovico di Leonardo di Buonarroti di simony). His mother (Francesca di near del miniato di Siena) died when he was only 7. .
Mikes father was furious knowing that he skipped school again, but when he heard about the contest he looked at Michelangelo and said, “Son if that’s what will makes thou happy, I shall by mine tongue and approve.
Well of course Michelangelo won the contest with a wooden cross he carved called the “Crucifix”. Ghirlandaio was happy to be the young boys master and taught him well.
Mike was really improving on his painting and sculpting skills and everybody noticed. By the time Mike was 14 Lodovico (Mike’s father) talked the master into paying Michelangelo as a painter which was almost never done at such a young age.
Well Michelangelo grew up to be a spectacular artist, but to be honest spectacular can’t begin to tell how talented this man was. He has his best paintings on the Sistine chapel ceiling.
As far as his sculpting goes, The David was by far his greatest achievements.
He had to have it perfect he said, so to do so he studied the male corpses
bodies of the catholic church which lead many to believe he was and/is homosexual.
Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni proved to the world during the renaissance that whatever you want to do you can achieve.
And if you want to be really good at your profession, then push yourself to do the hardest obstacle, you can only do better from there.
