S: Mother/Daughter Weekend 2011
FC: Camp Cedarbrook Mother/Daughter Weekend 2011
This year it was all about the wall | “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable.” ~ Helen Keller
So Diane and I have been working on making some changes physically speaking. For her that meant believing that after all these years, she would finally make it to the top of that darn wall.
 She made it. She cried.
 And there was great rejoicing.
It looks very high from this perspective | “I see my path, but I don't know where it leads. Not knowing where I'm going is what inspires me to travel it.” ~Rosalia de Castro
For me it wasn't about the top, it was about actually trying. I've lost 30 pounds so far, and feel stronger than I have in a decade.. So for the first time since that first year, I strapped on the harness and faced the wall. I didn't make it far, but I have one more year to try.
I wish I could have done a little more. But I am proud of what I have accomplished so far this year. All things through Christ... | Change is the essence of life, be willing to surrender what you are, for what you will become.
The Girls, of course, made it look easy.
Even Kris with her ankle hurting.
One of the counselors set up her telescope and we actually saw Saturn. It was really cool.
The skit, our two lovely girls, and some of Kristin's nature shots.
So on the way up we were later than usual so we stopped for dinner. I was all for the sandwich and ice cream shop, but we went to the diner next store. Yuck. As we came out I joked that we should have just had ice cream for dinner. So on the way home we stopped for some soft serve. Yummy.
