1: In Florence, a baby boy named Niccolo was born on May 3, 1469. This was a time of great thinkers, artists, and writers.
2: Nic was blood related to the lords of Montespertoli. Who were big in power years before Nic came along.
4: Nic's father belonged to a poor branch of an old Florentine family and had a library with books from Greek and Roman thinkers. This inspired Nic.
7: A love for books was a Machiavelli family value they all treasured, which nourished Nic's eagerness to learn.
9: Nic was really into Italian and Latin books throughout his education
11: Nic made the world of men and things his study. He became really skilled in writing in his mother-tongue.
