Our Beloved Furry Family Member! | A tiny puppy, smaller than a couch pillow, but those big paws hinted at his huge future... He hid under the coffee table on Christmas Morning of 2000, when he joined our family.
"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” - Roger Cares
Our Prince playing in the snow with us. Maybe he sees a treat in the distance? Squirrel? | "No matter how little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich."
so... | incredibly... | "There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face." - Ben Williams
adorable! | Prince enjoyed eating, barking at guests, chewing everything and eating. And eating some more. He came up with a way to get more than one meal per mealtime by acting like he hadn't been fed even when he already had eaten. And then there were all the things he ate that were not dogfood...
We kept baked goods in the microwave, as it was one of the only places he could not get them.
Dogs leave paw prints on your heart.
Every Christmas morning, Prince would sniff out his stocking while being annoyed at whatever getup we tried to put on him. Prince sniffed out more than his stocking though... Over the years, he ate almost everything imaginable, including pantyhose, underwear, CDs, bagged lunches, Halloween candy, brownies, whole jars of vitamins, raw potatoes, a bagel covered in hot sauce, loaves of bread, days worth of dog food at a time, and basically whatever else we did not want him to chew.
Once a dog has entwined himself round your heart he is not only yours for life, but you are his. When he is gone, his place is forever sacred. Other dogs are just as precious, but they all have their allotted spot in your affections kept for them or their memory.
Prince gracefully accepted Buddy into the family on December 25, 2009, nine years to the day that he joined us . Prince's life was never the same but he didn't hold it against us. He taught his brother all of his tricks, like how to score milk from Mom's cereal and stay outside until getting a treat.
"Old dogs, like old shoes, are comfortable. They might be a bit out of shape and a little worn around the edges, but they fit well."
wedding attire | always our puppy
 So | cute!
Prince will always be specially remembered, and he lives on in our hearts as we think of the many fond memories we have of our furry family member.
Prince's Poem We called him Prince after our royalty dog name tradition, and being endearing soon seemed his life's mission. He loved roll onto his back for a paw or belly rub and quickly won the hearts of the whole Casazza club. As a puppy busy making messes and chewing shoes, Prince often curled up for an afternoon snooze. We didn't view his huge paws with joy as they hinted he would be quite a large boy. He ate many things that we never could predict and we soon knew we were dealing with a food addict. He devoured food and non-food alike, but was always excited to go on a hike. We loved hugging him in wide open arms and thoroughly appreciated his many charms. He had an adorable "I love you" gaze and wanted his breakfast at the sun's first rays. He continued to thwart our locks on the trash, stealing garbage and food off the counter in a flash. He enjoyed running around being king of the yard but could sound really scary if we needed a guard. He always greeted us with loud barks and a wagging tail, so it broke our hearts when he aged and began to ail. After many years of being such a good friend, his time as a great dog on earth came to an end. Now our eyes are filled with tears despite our beautiful memories through the years. Prince gave us devotion and unconditional love, which has secured him a place in heaven above. Even though it's hard, don't be too sad anymore... When he saw Prince coming, God put in a big doggy-door!
