FC: Jonathan & Denise
We are so glad you want to know just a little more about us....
Hello, This is written with so many emotions. The one thing we have in common without knowing one another is that we are hoping to give your child the best life and opportunities possible. We would be honored if you chose us to parent your child to love him or/her unconditionally. We are Jonathan and Denise. We are excited about our adoption journey and hope it begins with you. Jonathan and I have known one another all of our lives. We were taught strong family values and have stayed close to our families. We attended the same high school but were never more than acquaintances . After several years we began attending the same church. We both enjoy music and we were involved in the same activities and began to spend time together. As we worked together our friendship grew. We both knew we wanted a spouse that was active in church, honest, caring, and dependable, Someone that would be faithful in good times and bad. Then one day it was like our eyes were opened and we realized that what we were looking for was right in front of us. At that point (which it took us a while to get there :) we were inseparable. We were engaged after dating a year. He proposed August 31, 2007 and we were married November 17, 2007. We can truly say we married our best friend and can't imagine why it took us so long to figure it out. We know that we are truly in God's will and so thankful that He put us together. Now we are praying He allows our family to grow through adoption. From the beginning of our marriage we have wanted children to share our love and home with. We realized that the Lord obviously had a different route for us to take. After much prayer and thought we know that adoption is the direction we should take. We pray that the Lord will give you the direction that you need and the peace that passes all understanding.
Jonathan loves being outdoors and always has some type of project going on. He loves having friends over showing off his grilling skills. Family time is important to him. We have lunch with his parents and sisters families every Sunday.
About Jonathan.. by Denise Jonathan has a way of making me laugh no matter what. He makes yard work or anything we do entertaining. We never have a dull moment. Jonathan enjoys playing the drums, photography, landscaping and carpentry. He is the ultimate do it yourself kind of guy. He completely renovated our home. His dad taught him many carpentry skills that he cannot wait to pass on to our children. Jonathan has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and has worked as the Quality Assurance Manager at a local agriculture company for 17 years. He has been in the ministry for 13 years, and has been the pastor of our church for 6 years. He is one of the most caring, giving compassionate men that you will ever meet. He is very patient and understanding even when things are tough. There is no doubt that he will make a great dad.
Family is very important to Denise. She would make every play or school event of our nephews and niece, if possible. She and her parents and sister are very close. We see them several times a week and enjoy playing badminton and volley ball.
About Denise.. by Jonathan Denise is a very likable person. She is the same whether around business people or helping a struggling person in our community. She simply loves people and often thinks of others before thinking of herself. She is very compassionate, caring, honest, and friendly. Denise enjoys reading, decorating, fishing, gardening, singing, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She has worked for a local flooring company for 13 years as a bookkeeper. She has also, been a Sunday school teacher for 15 years and recently became leader of our children's ministry and puppet team. She devotes a lot of time planning new events and making sure the children of our church have a great time. When she started the children's church ministry about 2 years ago, we had 10-15 children we now have 35-40.
We love to travel. It doesn't matter if it is a drive in the car or a trip on a plane. Sometimes it is great to get away and explore new areas. One of our favorite places is Oahu, Hawaii. We spent our honeymoon there and could not wait to visit another island. The following year we went to the Big Island. We also, enjoy relaxing road trips with family to the Smokey Mountains and to the lakes in Arkansas. We can't wait to have a little one we can share our adventures with.
Denise's family if full of lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. With this family you never know if you will be singing karaoke, playing ball or just visiting. For the last several years the ladies meet at our house to make Christmas candies. It is also, family tradition to go Christmas caroling. We all bundle up with our candles in hand and make our rounds singing to the elderly and anyone else who will listen. We make sure that we are together on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. We are so blessed to have the majority of our family living close by.
Jonathan's family lives close as well. During the holiday's we have lots of family time. This family is full of love and laughter. Jonathan's grandpa is 87 and is still the life of the party. He is also Italian. So, it is family tradition to make homemade tortellini for the holiday meals. While the guys are rolling out the dough the ladies and children fill the noodles with goodies. By the time we leave everyone is covered in flour but have memories that will stay with us forever.
We enjoy working in the children's ministry at our church; this year during vacation bible school we had pandamania... I taught all the children the songs and Jonathan was part of the entertainment. He was able to turn a leaf blower into a panda launcher. It was a lot fun and we were able to make a difference in about 75 children's lives.!!!
 Our Home
We live in a newly renovated traditional style home. We have 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. We have 2 acres of land with lots of room for our future children to run and play, have Easter egg hunts, and picnics. We live outside the city limits. Our home is in a great public school district. We are also close to several private schools. We live within 15 miles of one of our state's national parks that has activities such as fishing, camping, hiking, and sightseeing. We also live near 5 area lakes which allows for boating, skiing, fishing and swimming. We are just a short drive from universities to enjoy football, basketball and baseball games. In our city we have a YMCA that provides swimming, gymnastics, dance, and youth sports. We live near numerous churches. The church we attend is approximately 15 miles from our house.
As you have seen throughout these pages we are very close to our families. Both of our parents have been married over 40 years. We were taught great family values, and know how important it is to have love and stability in a home. We plan to raise our children as Christians. We are very active in our church and cannot wait to have our children involved in Christmas and Easter programs. We will be open and honest with our child about their adoption story. We will begin sharing their birth story with them at an early age. We want them to know how much their birth parents and adoptive parents love them. Thank you, for choosing life and giving a gift that we could not have on our own. We hope you have seen something within these brief pages of our lives that has shown you how much love we have to give. We pray that you are able to find peace in your decision. We also, want you to know if you choose us, you will never have to wonder if the child you brought into this world is loved and cared for. It will be amazing to see how this child will touch our lives and the lives of our family and friends. Thank You, Jonathan and Denise
