BC: The End

FC: Colgate, Dude!

1: "only a dentist can give a better fluoride treatment". Great way to lure people to buy this brand of toothpaste. If you can get almost dentist grade teeth treatment at home, why would you not do it? Saves time and money and if a parent was to show this add to there young teenager they could relater with the picture of the young boy.

2: 1990

3: Similar to the 80's add with using a young child as its selling point,.A parent would look at this add and think about their cute little girl and think that they deserve the same treatment , so they too can always be their cute little girl. You always see pictures of humans in ads, because humans relate with humans, its what we know. The use of the little girl is tug at peoples heart strings to help sell this product.

5: The way that kid jumps out of his bed and how eveyrone is dancing in sync and making crazy facile expression, im sure would have been more then enough to sell me when I was a kid. This commercial was strictly aimed at kids so they would bug there mom to get them the new "blue minty gel" colgate toothpaste. Unlike the other adds, which speak directly to the parent or adult.

6: Sociology is aawesome! | 2000

7: Again like all the print ads, aimed at the adult crowd. This being the more modern of the four ads, it shows a beautiful later twenties early thirties women, which she looks like she would not steer you in the wrong direction. But if you can't take her word for it, you have the "Dr" underneath her picture to co-sign the beautiful womens thoughts. So combined with the "Dr" and the beautiful girl, you have a great ad aimed at later twenties and early thirties women. de certeau speaks of people need to be told basically what to buy, or what is the majority buying. This would make the consumer feel better about her purchase, and of cours she is conforming to what the majority would do.

20: A family is pieced together with hope and faith. A family is quilted and bound with love and grace.
