2: We are | Rosa parks was born on February 4, 1913 in Alabama. Her father was a carpenter and her mother was a school teacher. They moved around a lot when she was young, and later settled in at Pine Level.
3: Rosa received some of her education at home but also attended the rural school in Alabama. | Later in 1928 for her 9th grade year she attends Booker T. Washington High School but drops out when her grand mother becomes s ill and dies. | For 10th and 11th grades, she attends Alabama State Teachers College for Negroes.
4: December 18th she marries Raymond Parks. | 13 years latter she is denied her right to vote. Two years later, at the end of WW2, receives the certificate to vote. | 1934 she is admitted to a white school.
5: 1949 Rosa and her husband work with the NAACP. | On November 25: The Interstate Commerce Commission bans segregation in buses.
6: IMPORTANT EVENT IN HER LIFE: | Rosa gets arrested for not giving up her seat. | 1955
7: 1956 the Montgomery buses are desegregated and black passengers could sit on the city's buses. | She wins and all is well.
8: We are so proud of you! | Rosa begins working for a congressmen in 1965. | 1968, April 4th, Rosa's dear friend Martin Luther King Jr., dies.
9: 1997, her husband dies to cancer at age 74. | 1979, she receives a medal. | 1992, Rosa publishes her 1st book.
10: Rosa Parks is designated her own day in Michigan 1997.
11: 2001 her 1st movie is aired.
12: In 2003 she is is diagnosed with progressive dementia. | Sadly in 2005, Rosa dies in her home.
