S: Rose Bowl 2011

FC: Rose Bowl | Wisconsin | VS. | TCU | By Chad Herbst

1: HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS SEASON | One of the best feelings you can have as an elite football player is walking of that transportation unit to the city of Pasedina, California. This year the Rose Bowl will be played with the teams out of TCU (Texas Christian University) and Wisconsin. Both these teams had pheonominal seasons and look to bring home the pride of winning the 2010 Rose Bowl. These teams have many strengths, and weaknesses, and that is why the betting has already started and many predictions have been made. The only real way to be accurate with this kind of stuff is to break down each team. | Badgers Come From Hibranation To The Smell Of Roses

2: TCU has jumped on the scene since a couple years ago, but has not gotten as much credit for what they have done because they are in the Mountain West which is regarded as a weak confrence. This year they have proved themselves and will go to Pasedina for a shootout with the Badgers. This 11-0 team is lead on offense by Andy Dalton, a four year starter senior. This season has been his most productive completing 194 out of 293 for 2,638 yards and 26 touchdowns. Their running game is guided by a talented sophomore (Ed Wesley) who ran the ball 162 times for 1,065 and 11 touchdowns. Acrobatic catches have been provided by Jeremy Kerley, a senior who caught 50 balls for 517 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has also returned kicks 17 times for 476 yards. The defense is first in the country in points against only giving up 11.4 points a game. On both sides of the ball, they are surely getting the job done. The question is, will they get it done against the Wisconsin Badgers? | TCU

3: The Badgers reached this bowl for the first time since 1999 when Ron Dayne powered them there. This year the Badgers were lead by a three headed tandem at running back; James White, Montee Ball, and John Clay. These guys all had majestic seasons with White running for 1,029 yards and 14 touchdowns leading the way. Much of this is thanks to the offensive line. Gabe Carimi and John Moffit lead the way on the left side of the line. Carimi also won Outland Trophy, given to the best offensive linemen in college football. If the run game studders a bit, Scott Tolzien (QB) can be depended upon as a very efficent passer who will keep his team in the game. Tolzien won the Johny Unitas Golden Arm Award awarded to the best senior quarterback in football.

4: The ball is usually tossed to the leading receptions and catches leader, Lance Kendricks. Lance leads the team in catches and yards with 39 catches and 627 yards. The offense is definitily getting the job, and so is the defense. The defense lead by the Defensive End J.J Watt. Watt leads the team in sacks and blocked kicks leading the defense. The Badgers sure deserve going to the Rose Bowl, but do the Horned Frogs?
