FC: Chagrin Falls Erosion And Weathering By: Libby Schwab
1: PHYSICAL WEATHERING
2: Frost Action I found both of these pictures in the Chagrin Park. Frost action is when water gets in between the cracks of a rock and expands and cracks it into many pieces of rocks.
3: Root Action I found these pictures in the near the popcorn shop and the park. Root action is when a tree wedges their branches through a rocks cracks. As the tree grows their roots grow. As the roots grow the start to crack the rocks.
4: CHEMICAL WEATHERING
5: Oxygen I found these pictures at the bottom of the fence an the higher falls area. Oxygen is when oxidation creates rust.
6: Living Organisms I found these photos in the lower falls area. Living Organisms are plants like moss, grass, trees and lichens.
7: Carbonic Acid This is a picture of the bridge over the falls. Carbonic acid is white deposits on rocks.
8: EROSION Erosion is the wearing away of pieces of rock. I found these pictures in the lower falls area
