1: Scottsboro Nine
3: Once upon of time, there was nine black African American boys, and a group of white boys. They were on there way to Alabama, then the white boys decided to pick a fight.
5: It was seventeen on nine, but the black boys managed to whoop their butts and throw them off the train. The white boys were so embarrassed, they ran to the sheriff. They said, "Them black boys picked a fight with us, and they beat us badly." The police said, :It looks like you boys have yourself a case." He rounded up the white boys and they went to get the black boys.
7: When they arrived, they saw two homeless white women. The woman swore that they had been raped by the black boys, but it was all a big lie. So in court, the jury found the black boys guilty. Eight of the boys were sentenced to death and one of them were sentenced to life in prison. Medical examinations showed that the two women had not been raped.
9: The Communist party appealed the conviction to the Supreme Court. Other organizations didn't do anything to help them out. The black boys were tried three times, and found guilty twice.
11: The case was called Powell v. Alabama(the 14th amendment violated). The second trial was Norris v. Alabama in South Carolina. They found that due to process was violated again.
13: The Alabama case was dropped again. During this time, one of the white women who said they were raped, confessed that she was not raped.
15: After the black boys were in jail for nine years, they were set free due to lack of evidence.
17: This case will go down in history and always be remembered!!
19: Finally the boy's were release from jail in 1940. After they were release, the African American boys went on to live their lives out in Alabama. However, they missed out on their childhood.
