FC: Atomic History!

 Christian Overton Oichetka Temple

 John Dalton

John Dalton was thug man! He proposed the Atomic theory. this theory stated that all matter were made of small individual particles (atoms). Atoms of a given element have unique characteristics and weight. Also, that there are 3 different types of atoms, simple, compound, and complex. Dalton inferred proportions of elements in compounds by taking ratios of the weights of reactants, setting the atomic weight!

 JJ Thomson

JJ Thomson was the realest goon of them all! He discovered the electron and isotopes, and made the invention "the mass spectrometer". This affected the structure of the atom by adding in electrons.

 Ernest Rutherford

Ernest was part of the trill fam! His atomic theory said that atoms have a central positive nucleus with negative electrons orbiting it. It affected the current structure of the atom by adding a nucleus

 James Chadwick!

James Chadwick went too hard. He discovered the existence of neutrons. this affected the structure of an atom because without the knowledge of the neutron, you couldn't see the one that has a neutral charge.

 Niels Bohr

Niels Bohr was a true pimp to the game! He came up with the theory that electrons travel in discrete orbit around the nucleus and that the chemical properties of an element are determined by the electrons on the outside ring. HE helped the structure of the atom because discovered that there were electrons that orbited the nucleus and that those electrons describe the chemical properties of that atom
