31: Today is Tuesday, June 28th 2011. After spending the last 16 days here with Grandma at her house in St. Clair Shores, I know that this is my last day that I will ever spend with her in it. Sometime in the next few days or weeks, Grandma will be entering a home. Grandma doesnt really remember who I am. In fact she doesn't at all. She feels that I'm just nice, young girl that comes with her children and helps clean this house she visits. She treats it like a Bed and Breakfast. Only its one she can't leave. Out of my entire 16 days, I truely believe I "saw her" for about six minutes in the kitchen. It was last Friday, June 24th, the day after her 88th birthday. She looked and smiled at me different, or at least different from what I had come used to. She offerd to make me a sandwich and tucked my hair behind my ear like she used to. It actually threw me off guard. And then Nathan, my 5 1/2 month old son, started crying and with a blink of an eye she was gone. I've had a few memorabe moments with Grandma in my short time here, but the the six minutes in the kitchen will be the ones I remember forever. Thank you Grandma. xoxox
