1: The great depression originated in the U.S., beginning with the fall in stock prices that started around September 4, 1929 and became worldwide news with the stock market crash of October 29, 1929 (known as Black Tuesday). From there, it quickly spread to almost every country in the world.
3: The depression lasted from 1929 to 1941, but even after it ended it took the unemployment rate quite a wile to get back down to its normal rate.
5: Life during the great depression was a very hard time for the U.S. as well as for the rest of the world. It didn't matter what class you were in weather it was lower or higher everyone suffered. People all over were starving, they were getting sick and couldn't pay for doctor bills, People lost there homes and had to put together shacks to live in.
8: After the depression had gone on for about 12 years it ended because of all the massive spending going on for the 2nd world war.
