BC: Altogether, I have learnt that technology was vital in the process of constructing our product. Without the specific camera, our film would not be as good quality and would not appeal to our audience. Without programmes such as ‘Final Cut Express' and ‘Adobe After Effects’, we would not be able to build and produce our product as elaborate and as convoluted as we did.
FC: What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
1: To film our product, for the first time we used a ‘Sony HD Video Camera’. At first, we had difficultly using the camera due to its complexity, however in the end we learnt and adjusted to the camera’s functions and were able to shoot in HD, efficiently and effectively. With the camera, we used a variety of camera shots and angles and played around with diegetic sound.
2: During the editing process we used ‘Final Cut Express’ to build our filmed product on. This was again our first time using the programme which was just as intricate. Nonetheless, with practice and tutorials online, we were able to edit and construct our film into a finished product. With ‘Final Cut Express’, we used a range of editing techniques and played around with atmospheric, diegetic and non diegetic sounds.
3: We also used ‘Adobe After Effects’ to create a visual logo for our production group ‘South Mix Entertainment’. The finished logo would be incorporated into ‘Final Cut Express' to add with the rest of the film. ‘Adobe After Effects’ was the most challenging form of technology we came across which took much time, effort and patience to create our visual logo on.
