BC: "Born not from our flesh, but born in our hearts, you were longed for and wanted and loved from the start." | Dear baby,
FC: Jackie & Jeff email@example.com 1-800-354-2579
Hello... We are Jackie and Jeff, and we are excited at the opportunity to share our story with you. Words cannot begin to express the admiration we have for you for considering adoption for your baby. There are many crossroads we all face in life; it shows great courage to choose a difficult path. Our wish for you is that you are being given the support you need right now as you are making important choices. Having children ourselves has not been an easy road. After many disappointing outcomes, we are relieved to put our infertility struggles in the past and are so excited to complete our family through adoption. We look forward to the day when we will finally love and cherish a precious baby.
Our story... | We met seven years ago and recently celebrated our three year anniversary. When we met, we instantly felt we had so much in common. (We'd spend hours talking on the phone even after just being on a date.) The night we got engaged, we looked up at the ceiling of the restaurant we were at, and saw seven words written on the ceiling: Live, Laugh, Love, Learn, Dream, Inspire, Give. We took these words seriously and they have become the foundation of our marriage. We both value family and friends so much. We are a religious couple who attend church regularly. We are both hard workers, yet like to enjoy fun time too! As you read our letter,we will share with you some of the many activities we share together as a couple such as going to sporting events, cooking together, playing Scrabble, vacationing, wine making, bike riding, trying new restaurants as well as enjoying some of our own individual interests.
Our story... We met 7 years ago and have been married 3 years.
About Jackie... I come from a very close, very loving and very big family. I am the youngest of nine children! I have 27 nieces and nephews and six great nieces and nephews with more on the way! We are so close that almost all of us live within 30 minutes of each other in the Chicago area. Needless to say, we have a lot of family gatherings. My parents were married for 56 years before my mom passed away. My parents have always been such loving & giving people. My mom instilled such motherly instincts in her girls. My dad is a retired Colonel from the Marine Corps. I am forever grateful to my parents for being such wonderful role models. After receiving my college degree, I began a rewarding career working with elderly people. Thanks to my grandpa living with us when I was younger and my mom being a nurse who took care of the elderly, I have a huge passion and respect for older people. I love planning events at work where I can bring the older and the younger generations together. I belong to a local theater. I have always enjoyed acting and going to see plays and musicals. My other passions include gardening, crafts, playing games, planning parties, cooking, singing, crosswords, spending time with our dog (Cheyenne) & being outside (especially in the warmer weather)as much as possible. | Jackie with her Dad & siblings
What Jeff says about Jackie... Jackie is an exceptional person who puts other people's needs before her own. Not only does her career involve supporting older people with Alzheimer's disease but she also volunteers her time helping others through various charities. She is a spiritual person who maintains her beliefs. She is loving, kind, generous, humorous, and hard working. She surprises me daily on how motivated she is. She is always on the go. Jackie has strong family values so I know she will be a great mom. I knew when I met her that she was going to be someone very special in my life. I love her very much and am blessed to have her share her life with me. | Jackie & Cheyenne | Acting is a fun hobby of Jackie's
About Jeff... I come from a small family. I have one brother who is married. My parents have been married for 45 years and are anxiously awaiting their first grandchild! I grew up in the Chicago western suburbs where I was always involved in sports. I'd play baseball until the winter, hockey when the ponds froze and football in between. Shortly after getting my college degree, I began working for a company which I am still employed with today as a manufacturing engineer and logistics manager. I bought a house a few towns over from where I grew up. We are currently living there. I have learned to be real handy over the years fixing up the house. (I fully rehabbed the kitchen a couple of years ago.) Although my brother is a chef, I picked up the skill on my own. Cooking for me isn't just throwing something together, it's an event! My specialties vary from Mexican to Italian to Thai to just cooking out on the grill. Other things I like to do include bowling, watching sports and reading the daily newspaper.
What Jackie says about Jeff... I adore Jeff! He makes me feel very comfortable and safe. What I love the most about Jeff is that he is a devoted person. I see this with his lifelong friendships (some as early as grade school), working for the same company since graduating college and the love he has for me. He is also patient, easy-going and quite level headed. Jeff strongly values honesty, being a good person and doing the right thing. I recently asked my nieces and nephews what they like about Uncle Jeff, and they replied that he is fun, silly and easy to talk to. (Well said!) Jeff, without a doubt, will be an awesome dad! | Lifelong friends! | Jeff and his Dad siding the house
Living life & having fun is an essential part of our family! | Live | Being silly with my niece | Canoeing...a fall favorite | A luau with family & friends
The greatest thing we have both learned from our families is love. "Love is like a mirror. When you love one another you become his mirror and he becomes yours... and reflecting each other's love you see infinity." The love we have received from our families is a reflection of the love we have for each other and are excited to share that love with our children. | Love | Jackie's family | Jeff's parents
Education is something we both value. We challenge ourselves to always learn more. We hope to teach and inspire our children to fulfill their dreams. | Inspire | Learn | Jeff learning to ski | A real handyman! | Jeff's homemade pizzas are delicious! | Jackie with nieces. We take a Hip Hop class together
Jeff running a 5K for charity | Jackie & Nieces Volunteering at Feed My Starving Children | Auntie Jackie giving her popular airplane rides! | From cooking for the local homeless shelter, to attending charity events, to running/walking in community fund raisers, helping others is an important part of who we are. These are values that will always be a part of our family. | Give
Dreams | "Every day we are fulfilling our dreams" | We dream of owning a boat some day | Completing our family | Traveling
What dreams we hope for... We live in a lovely community in the western suburbs of Chicago where there are lots of fun things to do and kids to play with. We have a zoo nearby which we visit often already! We love dogs & both loved growing up with them. We'll always have a dog in our lives for our child to enjoy. Growing up, we were both involved in sports and other activities. We will give our children opportunities to be active in the same way. We'd like for them to develop their talents based on what interests them. We will continue to explore new vacation destinations while enjoying summers at Jackie's family cottage in Michigan and winter vacations at her family's condo in Florida. Two of Jackie's nephews were adopted, so we know our families will love our child unconditionally. We look forward to family gatherings & play dates with tons of cousins. Our child will grow up with the knowledge that they were adopted. They will always be told about their birth family & how much they were loved from the start & the special place you will always have in our hearts. We have learned that openness in an adoption is best for everyone. We are interested in working together on an open adoption plan that's comfortable for all involved.
