S: Adoption Profile
FC: Phillip and Brenda
Hi there! Thank you so very much for reading our profile book! We are very excited and nervous to embark on this journey, hopefully with you! In our profile book you will find tons of information about us - who we are, where we came from, our families, our friends and what brought us to adoption. But, before you get started with your reading, let us thank you, once again, for your decisions- both to carry your baby to term, and the selfless act of finding a loving and caring home for your baby. While we understand that this is probably the most difficult decision you have had to make we will not pretend that we understand what emotions you are experiencing. We hope you enjoy our profile and learning a little about us. We have the upmost respect and admiration for your decision and we look forward to meeting you and hopefully building a relationship with you. Sincerely, Phillip and Brenda
About Phillip Written by Brenda | This is Phillip and he is 30 years old. He works as a certified welder for a awning company. He is also currently in school to become an x-ray technician with aspirations to work in a children's hospital radiology department. Phillip was born in New Mexico but grew up in southern Arizona most of his life. He comes from a large family with 8 children 5 of which were adopted. Phillip often discusses the things he wants to do with his future children such as camping, church, and showing them how to fix things. I know he will be a great father by the way he treats his siblings and his nieces & nephews. He is the most patient person I have ever met. He is a natural with children and my brothers refer to him as the "baby whisperer" for his talent with calming their crying children.
About Brenda written by Phillip | This is Brenda and she is 29 years old. She is a native of Arizona and lived close to home all of her life. She works as a project manager for medical software. She is currently in her last year of college working on her bachelor degree in Human and Family Development. Ultimately she would like to obtain her masters and work as a child counselor. Brenda is one of the most compassionate people I know. She has been working with special needs children for over 10 years and her dedication to them is admirable. She is so nurturing and giving. She is the person that our friends turn to when they are in need. Despite her infertility struggles Brenda managed to remain positive and continue to help others. These struggles helped strengthen her desire to be a mother. I know she will be a great mother as she has a good heart. She lights up when she is working with children and the respect she shows them is amazing.
How We Met | Love | We first met in 2006 when our parents introduced us. Timing was not right so we went our separate ways. A year later our families tried again and this time everything fell into place and we were inseparatable. We are very greatful for our families who knew that we were perfect for each other & wouldn't give up until we started dating.
About our Wedding | We were married on October 10, 2009 in Florence, AZ. We were very fortunate to be surrounded by our family and friends . We could not have asked for a better day.
Phillip's Family | Phillip | Phillip grew up in a large family with 7 brothers and sisters. This tradition of large families has been carried on with his sisters and he now has twelve nieces and nephews. His family continues to live in Arizona with several of them around the corner from where we live. His family gets together monthly to celebrate birthdays and they love spending time together.
 Family | Brenda's
Brenda grew up in Mesa, AZ and is the middle child with only brothers. Her family still lives in Arizona and we see them at least every other week. Holidays are important to her family and are spent with each other. This is a tradition we plan to keep with our children as well. Her brothers are blessed to have 3 children and we love spending time with them and see them as much as we can. One of her brothers lives in a neighboring city and her other lives within a couple hours drive.
Our Interests | Snorkeling | Sports | Camping
 Disneyworld 2009 | St Thomas 2010 | Florida 2009 | We Love to Travel!
Our Home | We are blessed to live in a wonderful neighborhood with several community parks and sport courts. There are always lots of neighborhood get togethers and many children out playing daily. Our home itself is 3 bedrooms, 2 baths with lots of play areas for a little one.
The Nursery | The nursery is a work in progress. We have the crib and dresser setup and the room is all painted. Final touches to be added once our child arrives
We have 2 dogs - Roxy and Harley. Both are 3 years old and love playing with our nieces and nephews.
Our Pets | We also have 2 cats - Baby and Lucky. They are sisters and are 10 years old.
Parenting | Phillip | We look forward to becoming parents and are ready to experience the responsibilities, challenges and joys that come along with this role. Brenda has worked with children providing childcare to special needs children for over 10 years. This time has given her valuable skills to use with our own children. Phillip has been able to master many skills while watching his siblings, nieces and nephews and looks forward to using them in his own parenting experiences.
We feel that discipline is an important part of raising children. Our discipline style will be dependent on the age of the child. We are firm believers that it is important that both of us share in discipline. We are very fortunate to have wonderful role models in our parents. They have taught us the valuable skills to becoming parents. We feel our mixture of discipline skills will make us a great team. | Discipline
Adoption | We will tell our child about their adoption when their age is appropriate. We are familiar with adoption and the feelings it can raise within a child. Phillip's siblings grew up knowing they were placed for adoption out of love of their parents and we want our children to know the same. The most important thing for us is that our child feels safe, secure and knows they are loved by their family, both biological and adopted.
We thank you for reading our profile and taking the time to learn a little about us. We are excited at the possibility of developing a relationship with you and your baby. We will be praying for you in this difficult time. With Love, Phillip and Brenda
