A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, | nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, | clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, | and the future worth living for.-- Anonymous | Lila Jeanne Wolff Year One 2009 - 2010
It's A Girl! | As most people have already figured out, my mom is a bit of a planner. So when it came to whether or not to find out if I was a boy or girl, the choice was easy. Dad was convinced from the beginning that I was a girl. However, I don't think Mom wanted to jinx her chances of getting a little shopping buddy, so she tried to keep an open mind. While they tried to find a name for either, they didn't have much luck deciding on a boy's name. The girl's name, on the other hand, came easily. After telling my dad that she liked the name Lila, he reminded her that Lila had been his grandma's name and they immediately agreed that it was perfect. After adding a middle name after my great grandma Jeanne, we were set. Everyone was so excited for ultrasound day. Luckily I was a very cooperative baby and the technician was able to tell them with certainty that I was a little girl. Dad, of course, was very pleased with his psychic abilities and I don't think we even got out the door before the calls to family began.

Sweet | Dreams | For the first few months, I insisted on sleeping with my hands straight over my head. Even if they swaddled me, I'd find a way to get my hands up. Even if that meant completely wiggling out of my pj's.
If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle. ~Vincent Van Gogh

No symphony orchestra ever played music like a two-year-old girl laughing with a puppy. Bern Williams | Jake and I have had a very dynamic relationship from the beginning. At first, Jake just ignored this funny smelling, funny looking new addition that seemed to absorb all of his parents attention. Then he almost seemed annoyed by me (probably because he was always getting yelled at when ever he was around me). And finally, I won his affection when I started eating solid foods. I, on the other hand, have always loved Jake. Nothing makes me happier than when I can get in a quick pet before he runs away. Except, maybe, having him lick food off my hands.

 MAKING MEMORIES
 Daddy's Girl
At about 5 months I really started to take and interest in crawling. At first I'd just get up on my hands and knees and rock back and forth until my arms gave out and I tipped forward, ramming into whatever happened to be in front of me. But I still think of this moment as the beginning of the end for Mom and Dad. I started crawling and haven't stopped moving since. | 5 | Months

Play | Time | I loved my slinky. I'd carry it around in my mouth while it stretched out behind me. | Me and cousin Jack playing on Grandpa Vaplon
Me playing with cousin Jack | My best friend when I was little was my mobile. I'd lay in my crib talking to it for hours. | Now that I am a little older, I've gotten very attached to blankets. It doesn't matter what blanket it is, big or small, if I sees it - I want it.
