Our journey through the pregnancy of little baby Emma. Our beautiful, sweet perfect little girl. We will always cherish our first 9 months together. Lovingly, Mommy & Daddy
It was a rainy day in November when I realized I might be pregnant. I ran to the store to get a test and called Lindsey to be with me to see the results. We sat there anxiously waiting to see and 3 minutes later my life changed forever, I was pregnant! I called Josh and told him to meet me for dinner at our favorite place. I wanted it to be a surprise, so I bought a tiny little baseball hat on the way there. After we were seated I set the hat on the table in front of him and said "Guess what! We're having a baby!!” He was overcome with joy.
Watching you grow for 9 months... We thought it would be fun to take a photo each month to document the growth of the baby. It was so fun to see how much my belly grew month to month. It's such a miracle to see the changes that our bodies go through while a little life is growing inside.
Oh the joy of being pregnant and the funny things I crave... First pickles which I don't usually love, then came the midnight mac and cheese and ice cream cravings. Josh has been such a sport running out to get me whatever I need. This has got to be the best part of being pregnant; I get to eat so much Food! Food! Food!
March 1st is a day I will never forget. We had our first appointment to see an ultrasound. Josh met me at the hospital; he wouldn't miss this for the world. The night before, we decided we wanted to be surprised so we told the nurse not to tell us the sex of the baby. Once we saw her on the screen we just had to know. We were so excited to find out that we were having a baby girl! On the car ride home we immediately started to discuss names. We couldn't stop smiling the whole way home...it was a good day.
We were so excited to tell everyone we were having a boy!
We decided to keep it a secret until we could gather all of our family and friends in one place. We hired a local bakery to bake a blue cake with pink and blue frosting so no one would know. Then we cut into it and pulled out the blue slice and everyone cheered and screamed it’s a BOY!
After MANY nights of flipping through pages and pages of baby names, talking about the many options, and praying about a name for our little baby...My mind was done searching and stressing. We finally narrowed it down to Emma Grace. I had said from the beginning that I love two names. Her name will be Emma Grace Jones! Emma: One who is complete Grace: Having God's favor
I had been dreaming of the perfect nursery for my little girl for months and I am so happy with the way it turned out. Thanks to my mother-in-law everything turned out better than I had imagined. We decided to go with a French inspired Pink and White theme, something that little Emma will grow into as she gets older. I can't wait to show Emma her new room.
The first time I felt you kick was both amazing and weird at the same time. I realized that I actually have a real human being growing inside of me. You had grown so much that your little legs and feet were strong enough to kick! WOW! I will never forget that first kick for the rest of my life.
Kristen and Lindsey were so sweet to throw a baby shower for little Emma. The theme was Pretty and Pink. The food, favors and decor were lovely. I had so much fun visiting with all of my favorite people who have been there for me throughout the whole pregnancy. I am very blessed to have such amazing people in my life. We have everything we need now thanks to all of the generous gifts we received. Cute clothes, diapers, a beautiful stroller and diaper bag. We're ready to welcome her home.
It was so fun to watch everyone play the fun baby games
We have been on this journey together for 8 months now and I can't believe I get to meet you in one month! It has been such an easy pregnancy with the exception of a couple months of morning sickness, but it is well worth it.
I have so many plans for us. Trips to the zoo, play dates with your friends, tea parties, birthday parties, shopping for pretty dresses, baking your favorite cookies, exploring life's wonders and watching you grow into a beautiful young lady. I can't wait to show you my world and I hope that one day I will get see the birth of your child someday.
Little Emma was ready to meet us on August 15th 2012. I went to Jen's house for tea when all of a sudden my water broke. I called Scott on the way to the hospital and we arrived at the same time. I was whisked away to the changing room and then taken to my delivery room. I was in labor for 16 hours and then finally baby Emma was born at 4:55 am. It was amazing and a very emotional experience for all of us.
Emma was born 8.15.15 at 4:55am She weighs 10lbs 9oz and is 16 inches long. We are so blessed to have been given this tiny little baby and are so grateful for this precious gift. We will cherish every moment we have with her.
