4: Best Cheese Biscuits | 2 cups of flour 1 tbsp baking powder 1 tsp garlic salt 1/4 cup of butter 1 cup of milk 1 cup shredded cheese 1 tbsp of dill weed In a large bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt and dill. Blend in butter till mixture is course crumbs. Add milk, cheese till just blended. Drop heaping spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake 450 F 12-15 min till golden brown. (optional) Mix 1/2 cup melted butter and 1 tsp garlic salt and brush over top. | - 4 -

5: 3cups warm water 8tbsp sugar 6 tbsp oil 1 tsp salt 2 eggs Flour 7-8 cups 2 tbsp yeast Mix yeast with 4 cups of flour, in another bowl whip eggs, sugar, salt, oil and water. Add to flour and yeast. Now bread in remaining flour. Let rise 15 min. punch down DO NOT KNEAD. let rise again for 15 minutes punch down and form into buns, put on greased pan. Cover and let rise 1hr in a warm place. Bake at 350 for approx 18min, make 4 dozen | - 5 - | Two Hour Buns

6: Hard Tack | 1 cup warm h2o 2 heaping tsp sugar 2 heaping tsp yeast let above rise in a mixing bowl: 1 1/2 cups water 1 cup melted fat 2 eggs well beaten 1 tsp salt 3/4 cup sugar add yeast in mixture to the above ingredients enough flour to make a stiff bread mixture. Let rise. Make king size buns and let rise separate on wax sheet. Roll out to large circle: use a swedish notch rolling pin to make very thin. Lots of flour should be used. Slide on flat side of cookie sheet or flat metal, place in oven at 450 till turns brown. Flip over on other side doing the same. Above ingredients make 16 large rounds. | - 6 -

7: Pizza Dough | - 7 - | 1 tbsp yeast 2 tsp sugar 1 cup warm water 2 tbsp oil 1/2 tsp salt 2 1/2 cups flour dissolve yeast in water and sugar, mix in oil, salt and flour, kneed well and let rise 20 min and press into pizza pan

22: Hot Dill Potato Salad From Auntie Noreen | 4-6 serving 4 cups cooked diced potatoes 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp flour 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp dried dill weed 1 cup milk 1/8 tsp pepper 1/2 mayo 2 tbsp chopped onion paprika in a saucepan melt butter over low heat add flour, salt, dill weed and pepper, add milk all at once, cook and stir til thick and bubbly, blend in mayo and onions, fold over potatoes, sprinkle paprika | - 22 -

23: Warm Beet Kale Salad from Amber McTaggart | 4 cups kale (lg vein removed and chopped) 2 med diced beets 1 cup kernal corn 2 tsp tarragon leaves salt and pepper dressing 2/3 c extra virgin olive oil 5 tsp fresh squeezed lemon juice 1 clove garlic finely minced 1/4 tsp salt, pinch of pepper ( u only need 1/4 of dressing but u can use it on other salads) steam beets til soft (i like a little crunch to them) steam corn and kale, i do this in batch and keep corn and beets warm in the oven while steaming kale, takes 5-7 min, mix tarragon and dressing in beets and corn, form a mound on top of kale, enjoy | - 23 -

24: Grilled green bean and celery salad from Auntie Noreen Donald | 1 lb green beans trimmed 1 sm red or yellow pepper 2 stalks celery thinly sliced 1 shallot thinly sliced 1/4 cider or wine vinegar 3 tbsp chopped fresh dill 1/2 tsp salt 2 tbsp canola oil 1/4 cup roasted sunflower seed (optional) | - 24 - | cook beans in large pot 6 min or till tender crisp, drain, refresh under cold water, roll in tea towel and pat dry, cut diagonally in 1"cut pepper into strips, add celery, shallot in bowl, whisk vinegar, dill and salt, gradually add oil, pour in to gently coat, refrigerate for 1/2 hr or let stand up to 8 hrs sprinkle with sunflower seed serves 4

27: coat chicken with flour, place skins down in pan with 1/4 cup melted butter. Bake 425 for 35min turn over and bake till brown. Sauce combine 2/3 carnation milk and 10oz can of mushroom soup, 1 cup shredded cheese, 3/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/4 lb slice mushrooms, Pour over chicken and bake 325 for 15 min | Cynthia's Creamed Chicken | - 27 -

28: Chicken | - 28 - | Hawaiian Chicken | chicken breasts (boneless & skinless) cut up 1/2 cup honey 1/4 cup butter (melted) 1/4 cup mustard 1/4 cup worchestershire sauce pineapple chunks Mix: Honey, mustard, worchestershire sauce & butter. Dip chicken bits into sauce. Place chicken into baking dish. Pour remaining sauce on top of chicken. Add pineapple chunks. Bake uncovered @ 350 degrees for 1 hour. You can add water or pineapple juice, if needed.

31: Odds and ends | Lori's Auntie Margaret's Fridge Pickles | 43-4 onions sliced thin cucumbers to fill pail in a pot mix 1/3 cup of pickling spice 3 cups sugar 3 cups of vinegar 1 tsp mustard seed 1 tsp celery seed 1/4 tsp tumeric bring to rolling boil for 5 minutes. then pour over cucumbers and onions and leave sit for at least 24 hours in fridge then enjoy. Can last up to six months in fridge | - 31 -

32: Tomato Sauce | 1 cup celery chopped fine 4 onions " 20 large tomatoes " 4 grated carrots 1/2 cup parsley 3 tbsp sugar 2 tbsp salt 1/2 tbsp fresh ground pepper bring to a boil, stirring to prevent burning, simmer 30 min blend then freeze, to make soup add heated milk by itself | Odds and Ends | - 32 -

36: Ericka and Lauren | Lauren Tastad | Stir Fried Stew With Artichokes | 1 1/2 lbs stew meat, no stick flour and baking spray, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 chunked onion, 1 tbsp garlic, 1 jar marinated quartered artichokes, 1 cup chicken broth, 1 tsp dried rosemary, 1/2 tsp thyme, 1 can diced tomatoes, 1 can chick peas drained and rinsed, 2 tbsp parsley

37: directions, coat meat with spray, cook til brown, set aside, add oil and fry onion, til brown, add garlic, and add meat, add marinate from artichokes, broth, spices, simmer 20 min, then add artichokes, simmer til tender (20min), stir in parsley

39: Overnight omelet | 9 sm pork sausages 6 slices white bread crusts removed 1 cup grated cheddar cheese 4 eggs 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp dry mustard 2 cups milk grease 2 1/2 quart dish, cook sausages in boiling water for 20 min, drain, remove skin, cut into bite size pieces, cube bread. in dish layer bread and sausage, then cheese making 3 layers of each. beat eggs til foamy, beat in salt, mustard, milk, pour over mixture, cover and refrigerate over night, bake 350 uncovered til set, test with wooded stick, make 6-8 serving | -39-

41: Greek Lemon Potatoes | 8-10 potatoes 1 cup water 3/4 cup olive oil or butter 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice 3 cloves of garlic 2 tsp salt 2 tsp oregano 1 tsp pepper cut potatoes length wise into quarters, place in 9x 13 dish, mix ingredients, pour over potatoes, mix to coat, bake 325 for 1 1/2- 2 hrs turn occasionally note- rub oregano before adding it to bring out flavor, also good the next day cold | - 41 - | From Auntie Al

42: Vegetable Dishes | Garlic Red-Skinned Mashed Potatoes * This is one of my favorite side dishes to make | 1 1/4 lbs. red-skinned potatoes (washed & quartered) 1 1/2 cups water 3 chicken bouillon cubes 7 cloves roasted garlic (can be substituted for garlic powder) 1/4 cup cream cheese 2 Tbs. chopped fresh parsley Place potatoes in a large saucepan. Add water and bouillon. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and cook for 20-25 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Drain; reserving the cooking liquid. Mash potatoes. Add roasted garlic (or garlic powder) and cream cheese to potatoes. Beat in enough reserved cooking liquid to make potatoes light and fluffy. Stir in parsley and serve. | - 42 -

43: Homemade Dressing | - 43 - | 1 pkg. herb seasoning 1 box cornbread mix (prepare as directed on pkg.) 1 can biscuits (bake according to directions) Crumble cornbread and biscuits in large bowl. Add herb seasoning package. Add salt, pepper and sage to taste (careful not to add too much). Cook (1) chopped onion, (1) chopped green pepper, and diced celery in saucepan, with enough water to cover. Cover saucepan with lid and cook until vegetables are tender. Add above to cornbread mixture. I like to use a can of chicken broth and juice from the cooked vegetables. Mix well. Add more chicken broth if necessary. Cover and refrigerate until it's time to cook. Bake (covered) in pyrex dish @ 350 degrees for 1 hour. *I like to use the broth from my cooked turkey to dressing. Always taste to see if dressing needs more spices and juice. | SIDE DISH

45: 1 cup pecan halves 1 cup blanched almonds toast both 300 8 cups popcorn combine 1 cup br sugar 1/3 white sugar 1 cup butter 1/2 cup corn syrup 1/2 tsp creme of tarter combine in heavy pot, cook to hard boil ( stiff off spoon) remove from heat stir in 1/2 tsp soda and 1/2 tsp vanilla mix popcorn and nuts together put in butter cookie sheet pat well | Norma's Squair's Poppycock | - 45-

46: Cora's Crazy Cake | 1 cup of sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/ 2 cup butter 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup cocoa 1 egg 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup boiling water place all ingredients in a bowl but only mix when all are in, bake 35 min at 375 | - 46 -

47: Chocolate Frosting | 1 cup white sugar 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup cocoa 1/4 cup milk combine all in sauce pan, bring to a boil stirring constantly, boil for 1 min without stirring, remove and place in cold water, beat til thick | - 47-

49: Mom's Butter Tarts grandma Clarke | 3 eggs 2 cups br sugar 2 tbsp vinegar 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup butter melted 1 1/3 cup chopped raisins beats eggs only til white, and yolks well blended, beat in sugar and vinegar and vanilla. Stir in butter and fruit. put into tart shells 2/3 full and bake 450 10 min then reduce to 350 for 20-30 min | - 49-

50: Rhubarb Cake | - 50- | 1 cup margarine 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup sour milk 2 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda fold in 2 cups rhubarb cut into sm pieces topping 1/2 cup br sugar 1 tsp cinnamon bake 1/2 hr at 350 in 9x13

51: Fruit Pizza | - 51 - | crust 1/2 c butter mix butter sugar together 1/4 c br sugar 1 c flour 1/4 c rolled oats 1/4 c finely chopped nuts add flour, oats and nuts, mix well on lightly greased pizza pan press dough into 12" circle, prick with fork bake 10-12 min and cool filling 12oz cream cheese 1/2 c sugar 1 tsp vanilla beat and spread over crust add fruit over top

52: Rock Road Pizza From Thomas Reed | -52- | 1 cup butter 1/2 br sugar 1/2 cup sugar mix till fluffy add an egg and add 1 tsp vanilla and 1 3/4 cup of flour spread on pizza pan bake 375 for 12-15 min then chop peanuts 1 cup, 1 cup choc chips 2 cups marsh mellows and bake again for 8 minutes. Sooo Good

53: Muffins From Auntie Leslie | 2 cups oatmeal 2 cups milk 2 tsp vinegar mix together add 2 cups br sugar 1 cup oil 2 eggs slightly beaten then add 2 cups of flour 2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp baking soda pinch of salt 1 cup raisins or chocolate chips mix together bake 350 really good fresh out of the oven with cheese | - 53-

54: Carrot cake from Boyd's g'ma Lily seifert | - 54- | 1 cup sugar 1 1/2 cups grated carrots 2 eggs 1/2 cup vegetable oil 3/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp all spice 1/2 cup sour milk 1 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 cup flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 cup raisin bake 350 till firm in 8 x 12 pan,when cool ice with cream cheese icing

55: Half Hour Pudding Grandma Cynthia, she used to make it for her kids | - 55 - | 1/3 cup br sugar 1 cup flour 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup raisins 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp baking powder sauce 2 cups boiling water 1 tbsp butter 3/4 cup br sugar 1/4 tsp nutmeg in bowl combine br sugar, baking powder, flour, salt, raisins, beat in milk, pour in greased dish, combine boiling water, br sugar (3/4 c). nutmeg and butter, pour over batter and bake 350 for 30 min serve warm with icecream

56: Grandma Cynthia's Favorite Date Loaf | - 56 - | 1 cup chopped dates 1 tsp baking soda 3/4 cup boiling water pour together, mix, and let stand til cool 1 egg 3/4 cup br sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/3 cup flour 1 tsp baking powder 3/4 cup chopped walnuts 1/4 cup melted butter beat egg til light add sugar slowly beating between additions, add salt and vanilla, combine with date mixture, stir flour and baking powder, add to date mixture, add cooled melted butter, and walnuts mix well and put in greased loaf pan bake 350 for 50-60 min

65: Best Cocoa Brownies | -65- | By colleen wellborn | 10 tbsp butter 1 3/4 cups sugar 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp cocoa 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp vanilla 2 cold lg eggs 1/2 cup flour 2/3 cup walnut or pecans preheat oven to 325 and put rack on lowest position, line pan with parchment paper, combine first 4 ingredients in heat proof bowl inside wide skillet of barely simmering water, stir occasionally till butter is melted, and its smooth, and hot enough when u dip finger, remove and set aside only til warm, stir vanilla in with wooden spoon, add one egg at a time, stir vigorously after each, add flour when batter looks thick, stir till u can't see flour then add nuts, then put into pan, bake 20- 25 let cool
