5: My favorite memory at McCoy is the 5th Grade track meet. I participated in 3 events which included the 800 meter run. the 800 meter run was my favorite because I had to pace myself throughout the race. Overall, I enjoyed doing something that I like to do with my friends. -- Joseph Kim

6: COLONIAL DAYS

7: In my LEAP years, I had many wonderful experiences. For me, my most memorable is Colonial Day, a time in which we reenacted the colonists' experiences in colonial times. While we faced the challenges the colonists endured, a sense of excitement filled the air. That day, I felt like a colonist! -- Jason Zhang

9: UNT Nursing School

10: My best memory from McCoy was being in the choir's winter musical. I enjoyed singing and pretending to be a reindeer. It was so funny to see Mr. Shughrue dressed up as Santa Clause. I liked it because it was an opportunity to act. Go Choir! -- Sarah Freeman | got music?

12: Fifth Graders trudging over rocks smooth as glass, Horses straying from paths just to get some grass, Children jumping around with their thumbs taped to their palms, Footprints staring up at cold chapped faces needing tons of lip balm, On the trails, In the forest, Below the mountain, In the camp, By the Brazos -- Alaina Rodriguez | CAMP GRADY SPRUCE

13: My best memory from LEAP was Camp Grady Spruce. I loved being with friends camping, and learning about nature when we were right next to nature. My favorite place was Devil's Island because I loved the hiking, view, boat and stories. I loved the science activities, campfires, horse riding, archery, hiking and games. -- Sarah Hong | My best memory from LEAP was when we went to Camp Grady Spruce. This was the first time I ever went to camp. The part I liked most about it was when we tried to sustain a fire outside. We used matches and juniper bark from the woods. -- Tiffany Suriadinata | My favorite LEAP event has definitely been Camp Grady Spruce. The experience was indescribable. There were so many amazing hands-on activities. Hiking on Johnson's Peak, taking a boat ride to Devil's Island, sailing right through Hell's Gate, going horse riding. and don't forget the last night with s'mores, skits, popcorn & hot chocolate! Project adventure with its challenges based on team effort, Man & the Environment showing, well man and it's impacts on the environment. This camp gave us a chance to get closer to each other and I'll never forget it. -- Alizeh Hussain

14: COLD DAYS | The day fifth grade went to Camp Grady Spruce, I was excited. I knew I would have tons of fun. Camp Grady Spruce was one of those things where you go in excited, and come out even more excited. It was definitely my best memory at McCoy. -- Alex Fantine | My favorite activity was Camp Grady Spruce. I got a chance to participate in many fun activities . The best were Johnson's Peak and Devil's Island. I enjoyed the hike on both. The temperatures were in the low 20s but it was still fun! I will always remember this experience! -- Tanay Bidnurkar

16: My best LEAP experience is Camp Grady Spruce. I think camp is an exciting way to learn science because it's a hands-on experience so the information sticks in your head. The main activities at camp are Johnson's Peak, Devil's Island, and Man and the Environment. -- Marcelo Rodriguez | Camp Grady Spruce was the best experience I have ever had at McCoy. The reason I liked it so much is that we got to hang out with all our friends from 5th grade, plus, the activities were really fun. My favorite memory was when we went to Devil's Island. These memories are going to stick in my head forever. -- Mihir Lulay

17: My best memory in LEAP was going to Camp Grady Spruce because we did lots of fun activities like go on trails, get to be with friends, get to meet other people and getting to do lots of things you can't do at school. -- Emmie Abels | My best memory at McCoy has been Camp Grady Spruce, because we got to hike trails on an island and a mountain, and did other fun activities such as starting a fire and archery with our friends, so we got to learn and have fun at the same time. -- Mason Hyde | FUN DAYS
