1: ABC Book of Bullying | Created by: NW Elementary 4th Graders 2010 | This book was created as an advocacy project for the Michigan Model Health classes taught by Mrs. Paula Louagie and Mrs. Cindy Dillon. All of the artwork is original. We hope you enjoy this publication.

2: A | is for accept. Accept people who are different. Don't put others down.

3: is for bystanders. There is no such thing as an innocent bystander. | B

4: is for calm. Stay calm when you are being bullied. Bullies feel powerful when their target is upset. | C

5: D | is for discuss. Discuss a bullying problem with an adult right away. Don't wait.

6: E | is for emotional bullying. Emotional bullying is just as hurtful as physical bullying.

7: is for friends. Friends can help you avoid bullies and make you feel safer. A true friend never bullies. | F

8: G | is for get away. Get away from bullies and try not to find yourself alone. | is for get away. Get away from bullies and try to stay in an area with others.

9: H | is for help. Help kids who are being bullied by telling an adult.

10: I | is for ignore. Sometimes ignoring a bully will make them quit.

11: J | is for joking. Making a joke when you're being bullied can throw the bully off track.

12: K | is for kindness. Being kind to others who have been bullied will make it easier for them to talk.

13: L | is for lonely. Being bullied makes you feel lonely.

14: M | is for mean. Sometimes kids bully because someone else has been mean to them.

15: N | is fop non-violent. Take a non-violent approach to bullying. Fighting back with your fists does not solve anything.

16: O | is for open communication. Talking about bullying with students, parents, teachers and principals is important.

17: P | is for prevention. We can prevent bullying if we stand up for others and teach kids that how to deal with their feelings and conflicts in a better way.

18: Q | is for question. Ask a bully "what did they ever do to you?" or "why are you doing that?"

19: R | is for report. Report bullying before it gets worse.

20: S | is for serious. Bullying is a serious matter. It's not just "kids being kids."

21: T | is for technology. Using the internet, a cell phone or a computer to bully is called cyber-bullying.

22: U | is for understanding. Help others understand that physical, verbal and relationship bullying are never o.k.

23: V | is for violate. Bullying violates a student's right to feel safe a school.

24: W | is for walk away. Walk away if someone is bullying you. Try to find a safer place to play.

25: X | is for eXtreme. Bullying is an extreme way to get attention. Some bullies think the only way to be noticed is to be mean!

26: Y | is for YOU! You are part of the solution. Kids can play a huge role in putting an end to school bullying.

27: Z | is for zap. Let's zap bullying by being good friends, by helping each other and by talking to adults when we see bullying happen.
