S: Alexander James Ahkeah Portfolio

FC: Hello. My name is Alex Ahkeah. This is a collection of work I have developed through the semester. The picture you see before you was taken downtown with an unsuspecting friend of mine. His name is Reid. The window in the back signifies the urban decay. He, the future. | Alex Ahkeah's Portfolio | We Are | Future

"It is by no means an irrational fancy that, in a future existence, we shall look upon what we think our present existence, as a dream." Edgar Allan Poe

This shot has a cool feel to it. We (Devon and I) found this small crevice thing and I thought it would make a really good natural frame. | GhostWriter

In our various adventures throughout the school, we found this window in the gym and I saw the potential for some Silhouette type shots. This is a light through a window shot. | Thought Process | Light through a window 1

Whilst walking through the commons, I saw some windows that I would have regularly ignored. Devon being with me, I decided it would be cool to try to get light off of his glasses and through the window. | Lightspeed | Light through a window 2

While taking the shot previous, I thought to myself, it would be awesome if he were jumping. And yellow. | Going The Distance | Light through a window 3

Box city was a physical manifestation of depression and all the feeling associated with homelessness. This picture embodies at least a few of these emotions. | Despair | Event 1

This was a lighter side of the event. Almost paradoxical in a way. I suppose thats was the nature of the beast, putting teenagers in real life scary situations like that. This is my box mansion. I loved it. It was awesome. | Mansion Of Box | Event 2

This is a good representation of what was happening at box city. We slept in boxes. | Homelessness blues | Event 3

We were sufficiently tagging our boxes before we slept on them. Probably not the best idea since it was spray paint and we were sleeping on them but...yeah. | Local Boy Tags | Event 4

This was our time of reflection and inflection. What we learned through the experience. What we felt during. The feelings of being homeless. | Event 5

I was traversing downtown when I noticed these paper cranes and their reflections in this window. My keen photographer senses kicked in and I took the shot. | Fly like paper... Cranes | Event | Reflection 1

One day while riding shotgun in my car, I was thinking of my fantastic digital photography final and I looked to my side mirror. Then the thought of a reflection picture dawned on me. | Reflection #4 | Reflection 2

One day while looking at the lesser known architectural aspects of our fine school, I noticed our gigantic window and thought, hey. I could get some reflection shots off this. So I did. | Sadness | Reflection 3

This is a shot of scenic downtown Flagstaff. I was walking down the street and saw a cool spirally effect of the circle thingy in the center of the frame. | Mirror's Edge | Architecture 1 | Architecture 2

Yet again at our school, I was looking out through the windows in the commons and saw a cool silhouette thing happening, so I wanted to emulate that with a photo. | Out into the World | Architecture 2

The lesser known parts of our school are so...lesser known. What is this tower for? What does it do? The mystery is palpable and I like the look of it. | Tower of Doom | Architecture 3

The additions to our school are very cool, and I don't know if this sewer were here before or not, but I now know it exists and it looked cool. So I got a shot. | This City | Architecture 3

This shot has a cool perspective about it that I wanted to amplify with the ray of rainbow in the middle of the photo. | Double Rainbow

I was actually taking a lot of pictures of clouds and the sky this day. This picture was just sort of mixed in with all of the randomness. Some changes to hue and contrast and it turned out really cool. One of my favorites actually. | Green Tree

The composition of this photo is really appealing to me. The negative space and subject arrangement really is awesome to me. A little work with gradients on the edges really flushes out what the focus is supposed to be as well. | The Door
