3: Ancient China developed along the Yangtze River. The reason they developed where they are is because they used the fish in the river for a heavy supply of their food. The soft soil by the river was also helpful for growing crops and planting gardens. The kids enjoyed the water as well, on a hot day they would jump in the water and cool off.
4: Ancient China had many different social classes. The top of the social classes started with the Emperor, they were the ones who ruled the village. Next, were the Scholars, they were very educated and they also owned land which helped the government so they would pay land taxes as well. Then were the peasant farmers, they produced food and paid property taxes which helped the government. Now, we have the artists and craftsmen they had ceramic, pottery, and silk. They weren't respected because they didn't own land but they also made items for people. Then were the merchants and traders, they would buy and sell items, but didn't pay taxes therefore did not support the government. And lastly were the slaves. | Social Classes
6: Landscape | The northeast part in Ancient China was filled with mountains. The central northeast was covered in hills and plains. The south had a lot of forests and swamps. The southwest was the Himalayan Mountains. And lastly the northwest was surrounded by huge deserts.
7: Ancient China made very many ink drawings, the artists usually made these paintings on paper.
8: Great Wall Of China | The Great Wall of China was built in the 7th century B.C. They started building the wall in the Qin dynasty and didn't finish till the Sui dynasty. Later, it was rebuilt by the Ming dynasty. They say that The Great Wall Of China is so big, that you can see it from space!!!
10: Government | The government in Ancient China is a monarchy which means, they have one ruler at a time. The whole civilization was not under rule, just the village. When another family does not like the way their village is being ruled, they build armies and fight each other. Whoever wins, rules the village. When that happens it is called oligarchy.

12: Yangtze River | The Yangtze River was a great river. It provided all the needs that the Chinese people needed. The fish, for food. The water, for drinking and playing in, and the narrow space all along the river the perfect size for a boat. Why would you develop your civilization anywhere else? And thats why the Chinese people developed their land here.
14: China is currently the fourth largest country in the world. | Ancient China invented paper, compass, gunpowder, and printing. | Fun Facts | At funerals the Chinese would wear white instead of black.
15: Fun Facts | Silk was discovered in 3,000 B.C. When the wife of an emperor was boiling tea and a silk worm fell into it an fine threads of silk unraveled and formed silk. | The Grand Canal of China is the largest canal in the world. | The largest river in China is the 3,494-mile, Yangtze River.
16: The crossbow was first created and used in Ancient China. | Anyone who stole silk was immediately sentenced to death. | Toilet Paper was invented in China, only the Emperor could use it! | Fun Facts
17: Tea was discovered when a tea leaf fell into an Emperor boiling water. | Ancient China invented ice cream, by mixing rice, and a mixture of milk together in the snow. | Fun Facts | Ancient China also created kites, they were used to scare enemies in battle.
