8: Whiskers serve an important purpose for many animals. They are usually around the animal's face and serve as feelers, like humans using hands. They can help the animal to feel its way through tight spots to determine whether or not it can fit into a specific area. 11: Territorial behavior is demonstrated by an animal, or group of animals, to protect their territory from being entered or intruded by others. Territorial boundaries may be marked by sounds such as bird song, or scents secreted by the skin glands of many mammals. If markings do not discourage intruders, chases and fighting follow. | Image used under Creative Commons from Oliver Neumann. | Image used under Creative Commons from Arno & Louise Wildlife.

12: Wings are an adaptation on many animals that help them travel. Although most think of birds when it comes to wings, other animals also have wing-like structures that help it fly. Of course, the primary function of wings is flight in most animals with wings. Some animals use flight to find and attack its prey. Other animals use their wings as flippers to move through water. | Public domain image picture.
