FC: Atticus Finch By: Lauren Steele and Keeli White
I try to teach to my children to be good people, to not judge others, and to take a walk in others' shoes. | I'm a lawyer from Maycomb, Alabama. I have two kids whose names are Jem and Scout. We have a cook named Calpurnia.
My daughter, Scout, is a free-spirited tomboy. She and I are very close. I taught her to read when she was just a little girl. She looks up to her older brother, Jem. She loves to run around and have fun.
The toughest case I have ever received was that of Tom Robinson. He was accused of raping a white girl named Mayella Ewell. | I knew we didn't stand a chance, but I never stopped hoping for a miracle. | He was found guilty by and all white male jury. They didn't see how a black man could feel sorry for a white woman.
I never told my kids this, but I am a pretty fair marksman. I can shoot my way around a rifle with ease. Until I had to shoot that rabid dog, I hadn't shot a gun in years.
"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb into his skin and walk around in it" (Lee 30).
