BC: That was our journey to America!

1: Leaving home I felt very sad. I would miss my friends and neighbors. I could only bring one bag on the journey. The most valuable thing I brought was my blanket that I got when I was born. I would be leaving lots of my other valuables behind. | My house
2: Some things I left behind were my, vase, desk, chair, mattress, dishes, books, drawer, and a lot more. | My most valuable item, my drawer
3: My family and I are leaving because we can not practice are religion in Italy. I hope we will have a good life in America! | Italy's Flag | Leaning Tower of Pisa
4: Boarding the ship I was very nervous. I really wanted to make it to America! | Our boat to America
5: We are on the ship now. We are 3rd class so we stay on the bottom of the ship. | I am getting very hungry and bored staying on the ship. | Our room
6: After 15 days I am losing hope of making it to America. But then I hear someone yell “ America!” I run to the deck and see the statue of liberty. I run to my parents and give them a hug. “We will have a great life in America” I told them. | Ellis Island
7: When I arrive at Ellis Island we had to get checked to see if we were legal to live in America. | The Great Hall
8: First we had to climb the Great Hall Stairs which was no problem for me. | Then we had to read and write for a specialist was was even easier. | Steps of the Great Hall
9: We even had to get checked by a doctor. My family was all right but the family behind me had to get sent back to Italy because they had a disease that could spread. | My family
10: The doctor checked my eyes to see if there was anything wrong. Then he made me open my mouth and say "aahh!" | Then he checked to see if my heart was all right and then me and my family passed through.
11: Finally, we got our U.S money and went on a ferry to move to Boston. Then I said to my parents “This is our home!” | Our U.S money
