S: The Great Depression Gallery

BC: How bad it almost got!!!!!!

1: The Great Depression A lot of people equate the great depression with the stock market crash on black tuesday. However the Depression has a number of contributing factors such as Bank failure. As people were panicking they withdrew all there money form banks thus causing them to fail. People stopped buying items which lead to the fall of the American production boom after world war one.It would seem that the major cause for the fail is that the stock market crashed and people went crazy with worry.

3: The great depression lasted from the 1920s into the late 30s but the effects lasted even longer.Even into the 1940s.

5: Life during the great was difficult for the lower and middle class americans and was tuff on the minorty classes as well .The rich if they were not to heavily invested in the stock market or commerical thrift were fine but it was really hard on the American farmer and lower class. The minorities already jobless couldn't get any work at all so it was horrible for most people .

6: The great depression affected the America people and a considerable bit of Europe. The upper class of American didn't have to much to worry about unless they were heavily involved stock market or thrift. The minorities of America probably had it the worst. They usally ended up taking migrant jobs and working where ever they could like everyone else.Men black and white watched as there loved ones starved all because they could not find a job or they were paid extremely low wages.Women and children has little chance for work or education A well. The children would run around the squatter camps and play as the adults thought of ways to make things better like in this photograph called Migrant Mother .

9: The depression did not offically end but.The rebound point started in 1933 and it is firmly beleived that. Fdr's fair deal along with other goverment reforms and wrold war 2 helped the depression come to a firm end.
